On closer examination, the wrappings seem stained dark from the spilled blood of vanquished enemies.

Loresong sorry for the mess of it:
An aura of magic surrounds the blade as if it was a weapon of great power and forged for a single purpose.

A strong aura of death radiates from the blade as if it was designed to beat past the defenses of your opponent.
The harmonics generated also tell you that this weapon does extra damage when it strikes.

Faces of those long forgotten stare up towards a silver haired man holding out a sinister midnight black blade.
Before him kneels a younger man, also armor-clad, his head bowed to hide his face.
Surrounding them are several black-robed wizards, their faces hidden in the shadows.
As the young man reaches up to kiss the ring of the king, the eerie light of the Lornon moon glints off the blade,
blinding all. Once the commotion dies down, shock reigns through the crowd as the young man stands with the blade held high,
the blood of the elder covering the young warrior's armor and pooling at his feet.

Has an odd flare, steals 2 blood and does this!

A red glow surrounds NINJA'S midnight black blade.
NINJA swings a sinister midnight black blade at a greater construct!

... and hits for 89 points of damage!
Slash to the greater construct's weapon hand!
Several fingers fly!
The shimmering gold aura surrounding the greater construct flickers momentarily.


Without the flare:
NINJA swings a sinister midnight black blade at a greater construct!

... and hits for 101 points of damage!
Slashing blow to chest knocks the greater construct back a few paces!

The flares work with Mstrike, Bonding, and ambushing!

I'm pretty sure Brielus has all the info really. The Chaos blades are pretty nifty items. I want to say the amount it of AS boost can differ a little, but I have never tested one at all, only saw it played with years and years ago.

At 750k a ticket, It's a steal to whomever gets it.

That the AS flares are variable based on the level of the target.
Was suggested the abilities were variable every swing as well.
And the approximation of weighting was done on what, looking at one swing? The weighting is most likely variable as well.

I just find it hard to put out that much coin for a 1/100 chance on a mystery.
