Lights on cable modem go out, but I still have internet?

So, I have a Motorola SurfBoard SB5101 and since I moved to the house, my cable modem lights go out. The Power one is on and the Receive one is on, but Send flashes green and Online is completely out. Activity stays flashing the amber color as it always does. It never resyncs itself and just keeps the lights exactly how I say unless I unplug it and plug it back in.

At first, I thought I didn't have internet when it happened, so I never tried, but today, I saw the lights go out and well, I still have internet. Anyone have a clue what the issue is? Comcast won't help me and the modem is mine, not theirs. I assume it has something to do with the signal strength dropping for a second and the modem can't resync or my modem is broke. :help:

Comcast, as I mentioned. I'm hooked up hardline. All wireless settings are off. And, lights are still flashing.

From what I been reading, has nothing to do with the modem and everything to do with the cable. Just wish we had a local wiz at this so I can nail down the problem.

I would just let it be, but when the lights intially go out, my cable goes out too (sometimes both the TV and the modem, but mostly the modem). Comcast has been here two times, nothing found...

Oh, and the cable guy yesterday told me that no one has internet on my street. How crazy is that...

that is FUCKED up, I live on a dirt road and know of personally 6 other houses with internet on it, and im on a dirt road! YEAH...DIRT so where the hell are you? rofl

he obviously meant no one has cable internet but is DSL available as well? or is high speed still monopolized by one provider in your area?

Yea, no one had internet service through comcast is what he meant. So if they do, it's DSL through AT&T. I live in South Bend.
