View Full Version : Good spells for scrolls

anyone care to share their opinion on what spells make a worthwhile scroll?
Some of the most valuable
913 (not imbeddable,g ood defense)
712 (not imbeddable, good defense)
215 (enough said)
219 (good spell defense, good duration)
613 (good defense, hard to imbed, good duration)
Old scrolls with spells like 318, or 515, which are no longer available, are valuable as well of course.
Overrated spells include 1119, 1619, and 919. 1119 isn't all that hot in duration or in defense, 1619 and 919 suck for duration -- but for the dueler or invasion junky, they are useful. Those massive titans that invaded teras for instance, you could put it up right before going to fight them, and it'd give you 30 seconds to a minute of life.
I happen to personally also like 313 and 513 scrolls.

1606, 1119, 211, 215, 219, 303, 307, 310, 313, 712, 704, 606, 613, 618 would all be decent spells to watch for.
308/318 isn't made anymore but it's a good sell.

Everyone pretty much covered it.
If you're into infusion a solid set of spells to use are:
1601, 202, 303, 503, 507, 508, 905, 601
Those are all easily obtainable. If you're not a sorcerer remove whichever spells you have access to add either 401, 406, 414, or 101, 102(for wizards), 103, and 107
For Sales though, the big ones are:
712, 613, 913, 211, 215, and 618
1606, 1119, 211, 215, 219, 303, 307, 310, 313, 712, 704, 606, 613, 618 would all be decent spells to watch for.

Does 1606 come on scrolls? I've never seen it. I agree with this list though, for sure.

Heh, that's my list for the Archmage, so I didn't include wizard spells. My bad.
( I've got two 1606 mage-rechargers for the rare occasions )

and the aforementioned 219.
:D
P.S. with 211 available via potions, I would not value it too highly.

People still buy it, Askip. Convenience of an unlocked 211 scroll over a bottle with crap durations.
My 211 lasts 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Good call on 219, though. Badass spell for a square/semi who can wear it.

Um, so I am slowly going through some scrolls of mine.
How much would it cost to get one of you sorcerer infuser types to check all of them with the runestones? basically just want to know which are locked/unlocked so I can sell them
I assume locked makes them drop in price a lot yeah? Or what

for those of us without massively crit padded armor, 602 is invaluable against boils.

I think the point is that 602 is easy to obtain because it is not self-cast only.

actually E listed a ton of spells that are easy to get and not self-cast only

You can do this yourself with the proper runestone. I keep one on myself to keep track of how many charges a spell has left.

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily include spells like 202, 503, or 601 on there since they are so easy to get but spells like 1601 are cheap spellburst wise and paladins aren't always easy to find.
As a rogue, the scrolls I like the most are 712, 606, 613, 211/215, 507, 508, 310/307 (no spellburst penalty), 303, 1601, 1605. Since I'm capped and have to deal with spellburst, spells like 618 and 219 are not realistic options for hunting, but I carry them around for things like invasions.

Oh, and NR its always good to have at least one 113 and 114 scroll for when you fuck up a blue or green scarab.

It was nerfed, only sorcerers can detect now.

4 reelz? Obviously I haven't done so recently. Honestly I was surprised it worked previously.

I am finding some nice stuff so far.
308, 318, 310, 313, 712, 913, 618, 613, 215, 219, 1119, 606
Even finding 918 and 515 scrolls, and some torn runes.. think that's a pretty old scroll.

will they convert the 312 scrolls to 318? :P

Do you guys really like 913 that much? I think its way overrated but I am very limited in how much I can wear with spellburst. I realize at +10 DS and +20 elem TD its like the elemental version of alkars, which I use a ton of, but 508 is more than enough ETD for me in the capped areas as a square.
AestheticDeath
07-24-2008, 06:05 PM
Well for the ones that can wear everything plus some, why not wear everything?
If I were limited in some way, I would definitely watch what I was wearing, and 913 wouldn't be it unless I was short on other stuff.

Are you putting those scrolls up for sale, AD?

It takes you a moment to focus on the ancient scroll.
On the ancient scroll you see
(902) Minor Elemental Edge
(411) Elemental Blade
(513) Elemental Focus
(913) Melgorehn's Aura
(412) Weapon Deflection

913 is good for semi's, and squares that can wear it due to the TD boosts.

Probably once I am finished finding all of them and sorting them.

yeah but 507 and 508 together offer +10 more DS and are way easier to get a hold of. The +20 elemental TD is enough for me as a capped rogue in my experience.

No, 508 is +20 elemental TD and 507 is +20 DS. I was just making the point that the both of those spells are much easier to find on scrolls and offer more bang for the buck spellburst wise.

1107 is good too if you're in Sunfist. Fixes popped muscles.
But for the record, Sunfist eats peanut butter and asshole sandwiches.

My mage rechargable is a lot nicer when I need it in the field and I'm wearing full plate. I think these should be fairly easy to find since there is a 1107 knowledge enhancive around.
