Where does your character stand when it comes to dating and relationships in game?

Do you mean multiple people at the same time with one character, or multiple people with multiple characters, or more than one relationship?

Personally I only have one character have a relationship at a time, if anything. I'm none too fond of relationships in the game since so very few people can separate game and life so as to not give me grief when I don't show up for a few days and think I'm cheating on them. :rolleyes:

In the past, a few of my characters have had relationships and one GM wedding.

Unfortunately, as CT pointed out, most people have trouble distinguishing between fantasy and reality.

One relationship ended with the woman trying to deed me because she found out I was married in reality.

It's nothing I hid; I just didn't see a need for my character to express OOG facts. It's not like I ever took the IG relationships to IMs or to private rooms.

Now I avoid IG relationships simply because people seem to think there is a need for reciprocation of some sort in reality.

If you mean multiple characters having multiple relationships... yes I have several times. *Most* of the time, it works out ok, the only real problem has been splitting up the time between them so no one feels "left out" It is much easier when you have multiple characters together with the same soul, however if you dont want it to go OOG, that could present a problem too since you dont have any time alone.

I enjoy IG relationships, you have someone there to hunt with, talk with, share a special in game bond with. If you have limitations you want with your characters relationships, make sure that's discussed at the beginning.. then there are not any surprises for either party later down the road.

Hmmm...I flirt a lot IG. When I hook my character up with someone else's character, I make sure that that person is sane and can seperate reality from RPing games. GS is a game, a lot of people seem to forget that. If you cheat on my character IG, I really won't give a shit. But, I'll prolly RP it out or something, other than that, I can sleep at night. I'm still friends with the majority of people that I've dated IG anyhow.

Hey that reminds me, what happened to Dinarius? I miss the man! The kid IMed me out of the blue after 500 years!

One thing I really liked about the Landing. It was like being in a live soap opera. It was so funny, especially in Helgas Tavern. People are such whores and are proud of it. The best were the cat fights over some loser. You just know the guy had to be jealous of his GS character cus I doubt he could get that kind of thing irl. :lol:

I'm monogamous. I think some guys I hunt with mistake my out-going playful nature as flirting.. but they are mistaken and it's purely platonic on my part. To be honest, I've been in the lands on and off for 7 years. after 4 years of being single in game.. only one was ever truly able to catch my attention. And I genuinely care for that person.. and if it doesn't work out in game. I don't think I would ever be with anybody again.

As for me no I don't get involved in multiple relationships and try to steer clear of any other kind form or variation of multi-whatever,
A) because I manage to scare or annoy most of my prospects away ::whistles::
B) They tend to get messy and I got better things to do than sort through the complex thread called love, romance, soap, and when reality strikes~
C) because it's a pain, if I can't control one relationship what would I do with 2?

IG relationships aren't that bad. It just depends on the other person, if they know where the boundaries are. As for my characters, here goes:

Lalana - Yes, I flirt a lot when I play her.
Skadii - Nope, it's always been one on one.
Sasia - Doesn't date, hehe.

Sheesh, I was having fun with this one guy in game, just joking around etc and he started kissing my character and now everytime he sees her he kisses her. I had to change my demeanor so he couldnt. Quite annoying. If somebody did that in real life that quickly I would have to smack them upside the head.

Oh, and that reminds me...there was this one guy I really liked a lot. He sent another character of his in game to flirt with me I guess to see if I would flirt back. I know it was his because he made a comment about something I had only mentioned to his other character. It was just weird and sort of creepy. I mean was he trying to get jealous of himself? Or just some sort of strange fidelity test.
