Impatient or Just too Newb?

mk ive brought my Bard to level 15...he does mediocre however i see past threads of bards having the points to train in CM and other skills that i don't have the points for. Now granted my stats are set for growth and im pretty sure will be decent if i ever cap the bard, however it just seems like im really short on TP's to train in combat skills to make him a much more effective hunter. And yet i want my cake and eat it too, because he also is going to be used for gem singing eventually. So all suggestions are welcome including the suggestion of having patience

well since i want to be a sonic user more than a gem singer i would need to drop my manip ranks and that would get me .5x for now roughly...which is obviously better than what ive got now. suppose im just too used to having my rogue and kinda almost wasting points while training because of all my needs are easily met because his stats have grown so hopefully .5x will get me by for now

I would drop dodge and perception if I were you. You won't miss either until much later in the game. I'd also drop first aid, survival, and trading.

I disagree with Izzy - I took my bard through level 36 fairly easily with the following build before I fixskilled it to be a pure:

1x armor to 35
2x polearm
1x CM
1x PF to 24
1x harness power
1x MMC to 24
1x air lore
1x manipulation lore
1x spells

Any extra points got poured into more spells.
