Heading out on Tuesday to spend 4 days/3 nights in the Bahamas (Nassau).

Finally wrapping up the website development for the e-business and should pull the trigger on Monday or Tuesday which means my work will be done except for managing the books and helping with the marketing material development.

Sending the kiddo to my mom's for the week (starting today) so it will be a nice vacation for me and the mrs. Nice thing is that I'm using my airline miles and hilton points (which means its not an expensive endeavor).

Anyone ever been? What is it like?

I told the conceirge that I was interested in 3 things:
1. Sit on the beach
2. Sit on the beach
3. Sit on the beach

Are you going on a cruise, or just flying over and staying on the island?

The beach is awesome. Not sure what else you'd want to do there anyway.

I found my biggest expense, when in the Bahamas, was for food. My cousin and I happened to take along snacks in our suitcases and this helped a lot with those midafternoon hunger pangs. (just junk like a jar of peanut butter, crackers, etc... easy quick stuff. Those things cost a fortune there) Also, all the happy hours seemed to have free food so we hit those. Something about being on the beach and swimming makes me extremely hungry, so of course that's the first thing I thought of when I read your post. If money isn't a problem for food, then you're set. I'd say your plan of sitting on the beach is a good one. Not sure if you dive or scuba, but there were some pretty good deals on those too. We also liked to gamble, but only did that for two nights (out of seven). Wear sunscreen... have fun! The sand and water are beautiful. (not to mention all the flowers) Watch out for barracudas. (I just remember people telling us that... never saw any)

P. S. Bring back some coconut rum. Even if you don't drink the stuff, you pour just about an inch in a glass and set it out and your entire rooms smells like coconut. It's wonderful.

At the Crystal Palace casino, they have a deli next to the sports book called Phil's Deli. They have the best hot open faced roast beef (or turkey) sandwiches in the known universe.

If you like to gamble at all, it's a nice place to go. Since the Atlantis opened on Paradise Island, the CP has kind of become the red-headed step child of casinos. They'll treat you well, and there won't be $25 min. crap tables...

Crystal Palace used to be the shit a few years back. And I can attest to the awesomeness of those open faced beasts. Good stuff. But yeah, your biggest expense will probably be drinks then food.
