I'm off to Osaka for a countdown party. In Japan, New Years Day is like the biggest holiday, and it's a family holiday so many people spend New Years Eve with relatives.

I'm curious to see how many people will be out in the streets partying it up.

I went to this club, and it was a hip hop club. There were tons of Japanese people all dressed liked gangsters. It was the absolute funniest thing I've ever seen. It was Asian gangster paradise. The girls all wore tigiht as booty shorts and hoop earings... too funny!

Nobody was dancing either, because I guess it would ruin their image or something. There really is nothing funnier than a buddhist with a big rhinestone cross draped over a Fubu jersey...

So, I took off to another club with my friends. It was packed! In Japan, the "white" slave trade is pretty intense, but they have these girls from Russia that sign up for year contracts to work in hostess bars. This place was packed with Russian hostesses. It was pretty incredible.

So, in closing... I drank too much. Way too much.

Plans for the wife and I were last minute.

A family friend had to leave town last minute and offered us tickets to a trilogy viewing for 50 bucks each. Not bad considering the tickets went for 75 a pop.

We got isle seats mid theatre with a nifty railing for foot rests (not intended to be such I'm sure). LOTR started just after 7, they served a buffet after that till just before 12 (I had to sneak to the car and connect with the laptop for like 20 minutes because the work cell kept vibrating ... bastards. I even posted while the damn file was uploading). We watched the 2 towers bring in the New Year. Had a very early breakfast buffet and then I sat through ROTK with a numb ass. It was great but I don't think I have ever voluntarily been in a theatre that long.

At 1:00 I decided to leave and my sweet friend Dave stops me and says "It's ok Diana, it wouldnt have lasted with him anyway...he's too immature for you. He was acting like a big baby before you got here." And on that note I left with a huge smile on my face and then layed in bed for two hours while the booze kept me awake. LOL
