So, I wanted to play that Spore game to try to win 1k points for the GS contest and the shit didn't work. Claimed I needed to download a Vista Service Pack. So I do it, and I hadn't downloaded any windows updates since July 2007. They force me to update thing to get the service pack, and after the whole mess, Spore still locks up.
Now... Since this update, I lose my internet connection. Not just lose it a little, it's about once every couple hours. It's not my router nor my cable modem. I am able to check the status of those two devices remotely and they are fine. No other computer drops in this house. We have 2 other vista machines that are wireless and we have an XP machine wired.
I have run my system for adware and viruses, nothing. I have cleaned my registry, nothing. I have turned off every power setting that would make my networking stop, nothing. I have disabled Window Search Indexer, Defender, Firewall and every retarded security feature on here.
I have downloaded a hotfix that this article here explains:

I have disable and enabled my adaptors. I have tried to use the repair features.
Windows Updates are worse than willingly downloading viruses onto your computer, I understand that. But need this fixed! Anyone have any other suggestions that aren't obnoxious and telling me to not have Vista. I also used a System Restore for 3 weeks ago, that didn't work either. Fuck. HALP!!
