Claid vs Perfect Awl, Another Look

Alright, so I was testing further and playing around with my claid and lance and I just couldn't get away from the fact that my lance was in many instances better suited for dishing out damage then my claid. In fact, I often favored my 7x lightning lance even over my 3x newstyle claid

I have found that indeed the perfect Awl-Pike is SUPERIOR to an oldstyle claid which is seperated by 6x enchants or more. Thus, a 10x perfect Awl-pike is BETTER then a 4x oldstyle claid. Numbers below.

Note the above is with Sunfist crit weighting for the awl-pike. Further,with the ability for a perfect awl-pike to be blessed or flared, the advantages of the awl-pike is significant over the claid. I invite all your arguements but from field testing and the above number crunching I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that claidhmores are slightly overrated.

Quite a few inquiries about perfect awl-pikes lately...

Along with mattocks they are generally the perfect weapon that the mechanically-minded are after. (Though I've sold more perfect mattocks than awl-pikes in my day...wish I had more time to spend in the forge).

So how many people have an old style 4x claid, and how many people have an perfect 10x awl-pike?

A perfect 10x awl-pike does not and never has existed in the game to my knowledge.

There are a reasonable amount of 4x oldstyles running about. I don't exactly know how many of them are on active accounts, Khariz might be able to give you a better estimate.

I currently have a 5x perfect awl-pike, and have and plan on purchasing a perfect 7x mattock in the near future, after I play with them both, I plan on taking one of them to 10x. I know I will never get a return on it, but I just think it will be cool. I think I am leaning towards the maul at the moment.

If you head smash then go for the mattock. If you mstrike/berserk go for the awlpike. This is best,mechanically speaking.
