Lore Review: Demonology - Demon Eye(707)

After 100 ranks in of the Sorcerer Lore: Demonology, the spell of Eye Spy becomes Demon eye. The Illusion of the eye will begin to take on a demonic appearance, with subsequent training in the skill providing a more substantial augmentation. Along with this transformation, the sorcerer is granted the ability to channel the spells of Quake(709) and Nightmare(713) through his eye. The spell of Nightmare can either be directed at all foes in the room, or focused upon a single foe. The activator for the remote and focused Nightmare is Tell eye to REVOLVE, or Tell eye to REVOLVE (target), with the spell of Nightmare being prepared. Further, there will be a slight reduction on the penalty of remote cast Evil Eye, with continual lessening of the penalty with additional Demonology training.

Lore Review: Necromancy - Festering Eye(707)

After 100 ranks in the Sorcerer Lore: Necromancy, the spell of Eye Spy becomes Festering Eye. The Illusion of the eye will begin to take on the appearance of various states of decomposition, with subsequent training in the skill providing a more substantial augmentation. Along with this transformation, the sorcerer is granted the ability to channel the spell of Disease(716) through his eye by use of the SNEEZE command. The spell can either be directed at all foes in the room, or focused upon a single foe. The activator for the remote and focused Disease is Tell eye to SNEEZE, or Tell eye to SNEEZE (target) with the spell of Nightmare being prepared. Further, there will be a slight bonus to both the warding attempt, and the virulence of Disease when a Festering Eye is present during a direct casting of the spell, with a continual improvement to both aspects with additional Necromancy training.

Nice idea, but you would have to make the eyes damageable so people could defend themselves against the eye. Once destroyed, it would be equivalent of a rank 3 eye wound on the sorcerer.

Good one. I like it. It would only result in a rank three scar, though. That is what happens when we lose the eye most normally.

I guess since the eye isnt actually there, it wouldn't really hurt you. So the scar makes perfect sense.

I think this is a great idea. The eye should be extremely weak though and attackable by anyone. Perhaps even more lore training to strengthen the eye some from attacks.

Also, I'd suggest the eye having a base 50% drop in CS, using more lore training to boost closer to 100%.

I would expect to see the same penalties that one sees with Evil eye for Nightmare, maybe a flat level reduction penalty in the remote activation formula of Quake. All would be able to be further reduced, though not to full 100% except for same room, and perhaps VERY short distance remote casting.

Nightmare isn't much of a spell, though. Disease is pretty terrible too. Eye spy lost 90% of its use with the advent of Peer, and it suffers from massive coding problems. I would hope these are resolved as well with the Lore review.

Changes to remote casting and the law are already in place. No changes have been made to the eye's ability to peer. Only the advent of the PEER verb itself.

He's just saying the utility of the eye was to see what was in the rooms around you without having to go. Now people can simply peer, so no need for the eye.

I rerolled my sorcerer when he was about 28 trains to be an empath... Boy was that dumb.

The spell of Evil Eye(717) can be mass cast, and remote mass cast through the spell of Eye Spy by having an eye active, and then CASTing the spell without a target.

No. There are no prerequesites for the spell other than having an active eye, and prep 717, cast without a target. There are CS/TD penalties in your target's favor for casting the spell remotely, but it is the ONLY mass CS spell we have in our arsinal.
