Some were just awful, some won awards yet made me want to hit myself with a brick...
Battlefield Earth
City of Angels
8mm
Leaving Las Vegas
..hmm. I actually like Nick Cage, but he'll do anything.
Pet Sematary (good book, crappy film)
The Highlander sequels (the 1st one was great)
Kingpin
Fargo (I'll never get that 2 hours of my life back, ever)
The Good Girl (Jennifer Aniston does moody freaky boy)

Anything animated and shown in a theater is pretty bad.
Also anything with a Baldwin (especially Bio-Dome Baldwin) and anything with Eddie Murphy (he really needs the money I think)
www.rottentomatoes.com is good for this stuff

Punch Drunk Love - Oh...my...god was it awful.
I actually liked Resident Evil.

I think that has a lot to do with the culture and type you've been exposed to. In the US, Animation is usually reserved for kiddie stuff. In Japan however, it is taken like an art form like any other medium.

Eddie Murphy has had some pretty funny movies! Like the golden child.
I like Pauly shore. Hehe. Bio-dome was stupid but they played safety dance. So +1000 points.
And whoever it was that said the Fifth Element sucked can go to hell.
And..as for animated..what about Final Fantasy: The Spiri...er...bad example...Uhhh, Aladdin..wait...wait...er..Titan: AE....okay I give up, you win on that one.

Wow, I like too many of everyone else's worst movies....
as for movies I hated:
2001: A Space Odyssey ... (My response at the end of the movie, "Hold me, I'm confused." )
The avengers ... (End of movie response, "I feel dumb, I want those two hours back." )
Ok those are the only two I can think of off the top of my head, I tend to block out movies I don't like and pretend I never saw them...

Supposedly this is because the Japanese think they (real Japanese actors) are ugly. So animation takes the place of regular movies. The animated characters also look decidedly unJapanese.
don't hate, I only *supposed* it

Anime (or animation) comprises of a great deal of Japanese TV output, as does their manga in regards to comics and magazines.
The issue of their characters never looking Japanese, or mukokuseki, as its called, has been related to things such as a desire to relate to a more generic audience all the way to the Japanese hating their own faces.
As for anything animated in the theatre being bad... Toy Story, Princess Mononoko, Shrek ;)

I think Meg Ryan is adorable. But I wanted to bitch slap her while she lay there dying.
:-D
more hated movies...
American Beauty (yeah i know, awards, awards. I love Kevin Spacey though)
Born on the 4th of July (after Tom gets back from Nam)
The Blair Witch Project
Moist Happenings
12-30-2003, 03:21 PM
Born on the 4th of July would have been a great movie if it didn't drag on and on and on for like 4 hours after he got back from Nam.
Also Meg Ryan displeases me so much that no amount of words can express it. I don't know why, but the only movie i've ever liked that had her in it was I.Q. And that was mostly because of Walter Matthau and the other actors, and the fact that they filmed it in my town. I've never liked her specifically in anything.

The English Patient! I was at work and my boss was asking if anyone liked the movie and I had seen it and hated it, but I didn't want t disagree with him so I said I hadn't seen it. So he decides I have to go see it and we get there and I hate it and he fires me. He agreed to give my job back after I visited the Tunisian Desert where the movie was filmed.

God, many of the movies listed at the begining are among my favorites.
Any of you people watch MST3K? They have the worst movies of all time on that show. Menos: Hands of Fate, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, Prince of Space, ect.
The only film I have ever walked out of was Scary Movie. Far too many penises in that movie....FAR to many.

Idenity sucked. Looked good on the previews but was not scary, obviously fake, overplayed and poorly done MPD psychopath with a dumb twist.
Also not a fan of Matrix Reloaded, and while Revolutions was better, it wasn't nearly was good as the first of the series.
Don't bother seeing any film with Ben Afleck on the front. I couldn't help but laugh when he went into AA after finishing "Bounce", in which he stars as an alcoholic.
Also wouldn't suggest Cold Mountain if you have testicals.

Full Metal jacket.
It may have been a good movie if my sister hadn't watched it 3 times a day for 2 months and totally ruined any desire for me wanting that movie to exist on this planet. The ONLY thing I got out of that movie was how to talk like an Asian hooker, but I could have just called Edaarin instead.

*spoiler* *spoiler* Wow this is an old thread... But I didn't want to start a new one. I just saw Dark Water and it was probably the worst movie I've EVER seen. Basically if you've seen the ring 2, you've seen this movie. Oh, and shockingly written by the same guy! Way to be original! Remake of a remake of a remake. Next time, make the story something that I haven't seen done before. The only thing that could have made this worse was if they did the stupid "multiple personality" ending that every horror movie seems to do now days.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Ye gods. I would have been more entertained if they just would have projected a still picture of Angelina and Brad for 2 hours. Brad looked tired and a wee bit long in the tooth for most of the movie. Angie looked bored and in need of Chapstick.
It so sapped my will to go to a theatre that I haven't ventured out for War of the Worlds or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yet. Of course, Gary's comments about how "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" is the dirtiest title ever aren't helping, either. Bah.
