I remember testing out runestaves earlier but very, very incomplete. Just compared defense differences between 0x and 4x and found very little difference, probably around +7. I don't remember what stance I did the testing in.

Today, I actually wanted to see how much defense a runestaff generated in offense so I did a little test.

In stance offense with no runestaff:
You swing a mystical Nalfein runestaff at XXXX!
AS: +127 vs DS: +413 with AvD: +4 + d100 roll: +6 = -276
A clean miss.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

And then with a Runestaff:

You swing a mystical Nalfein runestaff at XXXX!
AS: +127 vs DS: +415 with AvD: +4 + d100 roll: +4 = -280
A clean miss.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Now I know a runestaff isn't supposed to generate much defense in stance offense...but 2?

A runestaff isn't used so much for defense as for dodging. They can parry magic. And I think arrows.

do it again in defensive.

There's a big difference in defensive stance.

I guess it is supposed to make up for the lack of straight DS through the parry means.
