The freebie stat enhancer gift increases your HP limit by 10, or atleast the rogue ones do.

It increases max HP by 10.

You get 10 health every time you go to adjust your skill goals, whether or not you actually do anything, and it exceeds the maximum.

You probably have to have the ability bonus item for it to work though.

You sure it's not leveling up that causes it? I adjust my skill goals all the time, but it only seems to happen when I train.
