View Full Version : College life!

Well, have one more week until summer classes start for college, then on August 18th I immediately start regular classes. I seriously am all too excited.

For the past three years I have been wondering what the hell I really want to do with my life. At first I thought being a psychologist would be great. Then I remembered they don't make all too good money. So I thought, hm perhaps a crime scene investigator. I took some basic CSI classes and yeah everything is pretty nifty and fun. Hell, I learned how to lift up fingerprints from objects and place them somewhere else. CSI will always be a choice for me. Then some nurses came to my old high school and tried recruiting people to go into the medical field. $35 bucks an hour to start is highly convincing, but then there are all those science classes you have to take and I'm not too sure if I'm too set up for that. I mean sure I can do it but do I really want to?

For my whole life I have always wanted to be a singer. As some of you may know I have been singing for quite a long while. I was the president of choir club at San G (My Home Highschool), lead of both choirs there. I have sang background vocals for some local bands and even produced some of my own music. This year I performed alot for just school functions. It was fun. Most people were all like, "Hey! That voice is coming out of her?". I don't really know if that is an insult or not. But I enjoyed it. There is nothing more I love doing than being on stage and just singing.

I have been told time and time again, you have to choose a career path you wont be dreading to get out of bed in the morning to do. Singing/performing is something I know I wouldn't dread. Yeah, I know I'll have to work my ass off to land gigs and stuff. Make demos and whatnot. Thankfully I'm going to transfer to the best music college in Los Angeles. Musicians Institute. Which is located in the heart of Hollywood. So I'll have fun with those trannies. I have a plan, and I know what I got to do. Which is good enough for me. Thankfully I have great friends, family to support me. So I'm all out for this.

So yes, after this next week, I probably won't be around all too much anymore. I'll miss all you friends of mine.

Wish me luck!

It's about taking a chance at something I love doing. For all I know I may be a music teacher or professor. Which would be something I'd enjoy as well.

Don't do acid, because it is what guys wish you were on so that they can take advantage of you.

Unless that's your thing, but still. Drugs are bad m'kay. Remember to go to class, and if anyone takes attendance, make up a story. Or befriend someone who can do a reliable signature/First initial of first + last name. Don't use a funky pen.

Have preemptive death certificates and Dr.'s notices ready. Always.

Acid will fuck you up period.

Better advice is always have condoms and don't take drinks from people unless it's the bartender.

And if you're a bio major, I can email you basic format for journal citations + bibliography spiffiness the AMS uses in order to pimp out your papers.

Best advice so far.

Anyone who leaves their drink unattended or accepts a drink from anyone but the waitress/bartender should be smacked. Hard.

Hm.

Yes, cause piercings is the only reason why I can't get a job any place else right? Hah, you don't even know how I dress and none of my piercings are visible unless I want them to be. There is something called a "long sleeve shirt".

Secondly, it is far more apparent that I'm more mature than you'll ever be by swinging sad excuses for insults.

You just make me laugh. Although, I will be more successful than you'll ever dream to be.

Unless you go to a school that has a top 10 program in your field....

At my business school, the first 2 years are BY FAR the most difficult. They want to weed out anyone that obviously wouldn't be able to cut the workload or doesn't have a quick enough mind.

Well that's a good point. But generally my statement is correct. Even state schools bust your balls in the first two if you're planning on trying to get into their say nursing or education program.

But mainly the first 60 credits is bullshit. However it's wise to take as many that line up with your next 60 as possible.

*Like I took a shit load of extra humanities and history courses that were not required because once upon a time before life sucked I had dreams of being an anthropologist or something along those lines.

Yeah, definitely try to take some courses that line up...

If you see a good adviser, you can get a lot of courses that double up to knock out multiple prerequisites.

That's a nice school, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Just be careful, right up the street by the freeway is pretty ghetto, but the rest of it is all fenced in and has the 'exclusive' look.

As far as the first two years of education being BS, I'd disagree with regard to applied science degrees.

CHC 100 was pretty fun. Whoever said syllabus week, is so wrong. More like day. I already have one project and 3 papers to write. But meh, pretty easy stuff. I also took a peak at the theater and my god it is so gorgeous. ENG 914 is super easy, yet boring. I had to go out to break and splash water on my face cause I was falling asleep and it was 108 degrees out. Also, I loved the way the teachers pronounced my name. It is, jean-neh-fur.

Anywho, I have to go read english literature and do a project.

From the link that I posted like 10 posts ago..

The Tanakh (Hebrew: תנ״ך‎) (also Tanach, IPA: [taˈnax] or [təˈnax], Tenakh or Tenak) is the Bible used in Judaism. The name "Tanakh" is a Hebrew notariqon or acronym formed from the initial Hebrew letters of the Tanakh's three traditional subdivisions: The Torah ("Teaching," also known as the Five Books of Moses), Nevi'im ("Prophets") and Ketuvim ("Writings") - hence TaNaKh. The elements of the Tanakh are incorporated in various forms in Christian Bibles, where, with some variations, it is called the "Old Testament."
