The email listed by psinet came back as undeliverable :( So, guess I'll hope Jamus checks around here & can shed some light.

uninstalled psinet 2 days ago(from the uninstall option in the psinet folder). Reinstalled it today & now I can't log into the game at all? First I received an error message saying "Your psinet registry key does not contain a value for the version. This should never, ever happen. You should email psinet@psinet.cbj.net with this error message so I can figure out why. Thanks!" & I did email with the message.

Tried logging in again & it acts like it's going to launch but..stops just short of actually logging in.

I get a rather large box of error strings which make no sense to me, maybe someone else can lend a hand here? (Ffs I wish I could make it copy & paste)

The box is title 'Exception'

System.IO.IOException:The process cannot access the file 'C:\Psinet\psi.sal because it is being used by another process.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorcode, maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, Filemode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 buffersize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String mssgpath, Boolean bfromProxy)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, int32 BufferSize, FileOptions options)

at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path)
at SageDomain.SageApp.InitializeClient()
at SageDomain.Core.MainWindow.MainWindow_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)

I'm unable to uninstall psinet now either just to make it more entertaining :tumble:

I think that's it...phew.

Mm... that's quite a problem. Short of manually editing your registry to "fix" what PsiNet is complaining about -- which I really don't recommend (it's possible to severely screw up your operating system if you aren't really careful) -- I can't think of anything helpful, personally.

If you get desperate, you can either reinstall the Simutronics game launcher to get access to the game back, or poke around the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PsiNet" if you're willing to trust yourself not to screw things up.

BTW, I believe the address should be "@psinet.cjb.net" instead of "@psinet.cbj.net" -- if you emailed the latter, that's your problem.

Good luck.
