Okay so for a summer class I'm taking on "families" I'm doing a group project on gathering information about hispanic families and how their culture influences how their family functions. Only answer these questions if you're Hispanic and give slight details about your family as well. Also, please note your location and if you were born in America or not!!

What significant issues are raised in your family? Does your culture have any influence on issues that are raised in your family?

How does your culture influence your families structure?

The function of your family?

Formation of your family?

Does your families function change over time with changes in Hispanic culture?

Thanks :)

As it is, in fact, taco night, I feel I am qualified to reply. As my family is quite distant, we don't raise many issues outside of who should shut up and when. My culture, which is pretty much a mishmash of everything from dreamcatchers to those huge, nordic horn things on the cough drop commercials. It has little to no influence on my daily life, as I like my dreams, and hate cough drops.

My culture would suggest that my family should be closely knit, and often share dinner at a large table each evening after slaughtering a village of angry Norse bandits.

As I am not Carlos Mencia, I will not play the role of a racist Spanish guy, who is actually a German guy pretending to be Spanish, if only to get away with his blatant racism. I will simply say, if I WAS Spanish, I'd likely sit around drinking some kind of awesome alcohol, while shouting something about mami's or papi's.

Anyway, hope that helped.
