So, I'm torn between what race to choose for my warrior. It's up to these 3, and I need advice on each.
Giantman Half-Krov Dwarf.
Giantman can hit anything but aren't fast... but theres a ton of enhancives around.
Half-Korv can hit anything (as much as giantman? in terms of height restrictions on the head) and for the rest there are a ton of enhancives running around.
Dwarves got that awesome TD bonus (is it +20?) but problems arise from them not being able to hit the head at the get go which is critical for what I'm trying to do.
Anyhow, I guess my real question is how big a deal is that dwarven TD bonus? Especially with sunfist TD bonus widely avaialble and you were just going to carry around a bunch of spell enhancives etc.
If the dwarven TD isn't such a great big deal, then it's up to Half krov and giantman. Between the two which is the best? Can giantman hit more stuff on the head then the krov? Does the krov have any special abilties I should know about?

The TD bonus of Dwarves and Halflings is pretty amazing. Honestly, though, let me give you a bit of advice. Don't pick your race based on mechanics. It will impede your enjoyment of the game. If you want to be able to splatter heads, pick the Half-Krol or Giant.
That said...as a giant at level 100 with wizard and cleric spells on, I'm still about 20 TD shy of not being able to get hit by spells at all. It's never that big of a deal to me, as they pretty much gotta roll an 80 or higher to even hit me, but it would be pretty neat if I couldn't get hit at all. I really wouldn't want to give up my ability to splatter heads or have the massive AS I have though, either.
I've played a dwarf warrior too, and I have to say that it really was the best of both worlds. Yes...you lose out on the headshots, but really, if you are using a maul or claid or something, its fine to leg then head. The critter ain't going nowhere. And now with the way the mechanics work, if you are 4 ft tall and the thing you are fighting is 12 feet tall, you are more likely to hit the legs on an open swing all the time anyway. Even as a giant, when I fought Illoke in the stronghold, I would hit their legs on an non-simed swing about 65% of the time. Following up with an aimed headshot is brilliant. This will happen whether you are a dwarf or a giant. As a dwarf, you can start doing this even sooner.
I can't really recommend picking a short class for TD benefit alone, and I say that for two reasons. One, if you are going to have access to spell casting class, you won't miss the TD loss growing up. But on the other hand, if you are NOT going to have access to spells, the TD gain from being a shorty will not be enough to keep you from warding mobs anyway...but will be a lot better than a spellless giant of course. The only time you are really going to want both is at the endgame, when things can ward your TD, but other classes have it easy. A dwarf or halfling could mean living or dying unless you are all decked out in TD spells.
So...I recommend that you pick your race based on how you want to play and who you want to be. The mechanical advantaged to TD one way or another can be balanced or mitigated. Figure out which one is "you", and go for it. It'll make playing the character much more fun.

Large races cannot aim at sufficiently small creatures. This is something else to take into consideration if immediate head shots are important to you.

Are Krovlin considered "large" akin to Giantmen or are they considered medium like Humans and Elves? They should really put the size factor (S,M,L) on the krakiipedia website... I know they've got the exact height configuration but thats ambiguous relative to the mechanics. Humans can go grow 6 ft but so can a small Krovlin. So does that mean I'll not be able to aim at smaller critters?
The reason I concentrate on the height thing is. I'll be making a warrior solely around berserking and mstriking with a lance. So, I'll be grimswarming and the inability to hit the head on the initial mstrike might deter a few critical headshot "kills" now and again. Hrm, but then again what does it matter if I do not kill something on the first shot of mstrike/berserking... the next round will cost the same anyway in terms of stamina. So I guess really the REAL question is:
When in a swarm how critical is it for you to headshot kill something in your initial mstrike while berserking? I'll most definetly not headshot/kill everything on the first round... but there is a chance with a giantman but not with a dwarf. But remember the cost of another round of mstrike during berserk is the same at 10 stam and I'll probably need this anyhow. Hrmm...

I am so sick of seeing people raise the "Dwarves can't ambush head" flag. If the only way you can come up with to kill something is ambush head then make a rogue and stab from the shadows.

You can't aim while mstriking or berserking, so I'm really not sure what you're getting at.

and as a giant there are many things that are too small to aim at as well.

But when you mstrike there is a % chance for you to hit the head, while with a dwarf this chance disappears altogether.

Which is bullshit. :(
Though it certainly makes archery more win, because there is no size restriction with it.

actually my main is a dwarf....90% of the creatures ive hunted....have all been head-a-ble instantly. there wasn't much i've had to leg first....a few different trolls, all grimswarm, illoke...thats about it....and most of the time i'd ambush the back and it would be a 1 hit kill anyways...not as often as a head 1 shot kill but if it wasn't dead from a back crit, it was knocked to the ground and i was able to own the head at that point anyways....
either way height restrictions don't apply to me anymore now.. <3 archery
