I assume that once your spool of line runs out, you need to find/buy new fishing line somewhere else?

Also, is there any chance of breaking the rod, or say losing a lure from a fish etc?

Certain Lakes you can go fishing at, I believe Solhaven and Ta'Illistim are other spots as well. The rest, well is a blur.

Do you actually get anything from fishing? Like can the fish be used for anything or is it basically just, "Hey I caught a 10 pounder. Yay me!" and not much else?

Fishing has actually been out longer, but not in the form that it currently is. There is a fishing spot in a premium neighborhood outside Ta'Illistim designed by GM Wolv, but it isn't on the same system as the rest of the more recently introduced fishing stuff.

On the new system there is a fishing area in Ta'Illistim (only open to elves on certain days) and a shop to get more supplies and a fishing area in Zul Logoth, but with different fish that live in caves. As part of the PRO Tier 3 building stuff, you can request a fishing pond, so there may be more areas inside those.

The fishing in Solhaven is actually lobstering, but, just for Methais, you can actually find loot when you fish there (you can also find loot eating fishcakes), but I'm not sure how many different types of loot you can get, I've found some rings and amulets in my time.

Yep I think at least one spot still has the old-style fishing, in Tyramia Hollow just south of Illistim. I remember your group ran tournaments that I thoroughly enjoyed, thanks!
