a pair of obsidian dice with pips of ivory

show:
The dice are six sided obsidian cubes with a different number of white ivory pips surrounded by fine runes on each side. The single pips representing ones are shaped like tiny crimson skulls with a more concentrated number of runes surrounding them. The dice absorbs any light that shines on them without reflection like the inky blackness of night.

Casts spells depending on the roll. Unlimited use. No roundtime.

LORESONG:

"Dice obsidian made with blood
Sweep me away in song's flood."

As you sing, you see a vision of the night sky with Charon beginning to rise over the horizon. A strange pinpoint of darkness forming in the center of the moon.

"Charon rising above the land
Brightly in the sky he takes his stand
Dice to roll beneath the sky
Dark spot rolling by and by"

As you continue to sing, you see Orhan rise close to Charon and an even smaller glowing point of light appear in the center of the darkness. In a shimmering flash of light the two points mix and shoot towards Kulthea.

"Orhan rise to Charon speed
Come to me now I have need
To learn the beams that to Kulthea fly
Dice still rolling in the sky"

As you continue to sing, you see two strange objects fall to the ground in a shimmering streak of light. As they fall the brilliant flare of pure essence mingles with the undulating darkness of the unlife as if locked in battle around the objects.

"Fates small messengers, tiny dice
Sing my song within a trice
Come ye now the battle rage
Dice we turn another page"

As you conclude the song, a final vision comes to you, the image of a pair of dice with odd pips resting in a shallow crater. The vision fades leaving you with the impression that the dice are a point of contention between the Lords of Orhan and the Dark Lords of Charon. Their nature and abilities dependent upon that hidden struggle.

I've now rolled the dice 184 times. I've never died nor gotten meteor swarm yet. I don't know if I'm just lucky or what.

I've always wanted a set of those dice, but I'd prefer them in Platinum. Really cool and fun. Nice price too for Prime, I have to say. Anyways, free bump!

if it didnt have meteor swarm, i'd buy them... I'd hate to kill other people just from trying to get a good spell or two for myself

Do it in isolated area. If you have 50mil you also have the capability to move a couple rooms.

I hunt the rift... only 3 areas that I can spell up in, all with people usually, or right next to people. I'm sure as hell not using the dice once I go in either.

Ive used those dice before... after a few hundred rolls I never hit a meteor swarm. I think the dice are weighted, I haven't done any calcs on it though.

It might be uncommon but I definitely remember people playing when Tsin owned them and someone rolled meteor swarm.

I do it it about 5 steps outside of the northgate of KZ. I have my cleric ready to fog to me in case I die, and I am prepared to haul some major ass if Swarm goes off. So far so good.

Yah your getting really lucky you should hit meteor swarm about every 12th roll on average. To roll 160+ times and not hit it would make me think they are actually weighted somehow.

8 - 13.89%

10 - 8.33%

Odds of not rolling a 4 or 2 in 180 trials = .88(prob of not rolling a 4 or 2) to the 180th(roughly should technically be 183 for 184 trials) I think which comes to

1.0159702407848057e-10

Thats one magnitude worse than winning power ball.

I tend to get 507 the most. I'd say I've gotten it over 30% of the time. Freaks me out, but I love it because it's one of the spells I can't otherwise get.

They do not. I usually bring someone with me when I roll em, or have my fogger on standby in case I die. Though I've only died once.

Hrm, now I'm feeling guilty for taking a set of these to my grave in Plat. Ah well. Though mine had limits - could only be rolled 5 times a day, and were all wizard spells.

Mine also killed a large number of people right after I won them, with what was essentially cone of lightning.

The bustling town comes together in this square. Halflings dressed in varying fashions stand about, some chattering happily, others reclining on cloaks laid on the ground. One ancient halfling leans against the base of the large ice statue of a mule, snoring blissfully. A feeling of community pervades the area, putting you immediately at ease. You also see the Yaocui disk, a cunning sunburst spirit that is flying around, a carved ice bench with some stuff on it and a blanket of snow.

Arriving at the Jailhouse, the Halfling deputy cracks his knuckles, then gestures and utters a phrase of magic. Absentmindedly waving a hand at you, he magically strips you of your possessions, then shoves you over to a small, cramped cell. Unlocking and opening it, he swiftly pushes you in. "Enjoy your stay, varmint! If I had my way around here, ye'd be cleaning out the mule stables til the end of time!" he exclaims.

With a final snort, the Halfling deputy locks the cell door shut, leaving you to contemplate your fate.

In the distance you hear the Halfling deputy say, "There are clothes on the floor if you want them, but I expect them to be returned. You have two weeks time to clear out of here and collect your belongings. After two weeks I like to clean out the clutter in my office."

In their defense, the vast majority of the population has never seen a meteor swarm.... So they had no idea what was going on.

This is wild... I think the GM's toyed with the dice while it was in the constables box last night. Especially since one of them talked to me about them...

A 4 is no longer meteor swarm....

The dice bounce a few times and come to rest on 3 and 1.
A void rips open in the area, close enough for you to take serious notice of it.
Debris slams into your head!

Stunned for 10 rounds!

Everything in the room seemed to stay in place. The void disappears without further incident.

Actually, the armor being off is most likely what saved you due to not having any mods to the mobility penalty.

Ehhh, my character speaks in a soft-tone 90% of the time. It's a part of who he is, so the tone fits him.

Granted it wasn't right for the situation, and your point is taken, but the last thing I was really worried about was changing it when I was telling people to run.
