What kind of junk or "essential" things have you bought recently?
I bought a designer USB flash drive...

I needed it. Really. I swear...

Um... that's great. I think.
Can we keep this to tangible items? Sorry I didn't specify that in the first post.
"A shimmering greatcloak with a dwarf ravaging a sheep in the pale moon light patterned in sequins" is not where I wanted to take this.
My bad.

I recently bought a new wireless USB thingy, mainly because my old wireless card for some reason quit on me. I blame Vista.
Other than that, I don't really buy anything except beer/vodka tonics/coke/food.
But then again, up until 5 minutes ago I was paying monthly for three Simu accts and a WoW acct.
Edit: Check that, I recently renewed my cell phone acct and got a Blackberry when I suppose I could have gone much more simple.

They're like the ultimate conversation piece.
EDIT:
On a separate note, is there a way to upload pictures to this site, and then put them in a post so the actual picture shows up in a thread, and not just a link to the picture? I remember the old site hand a picture gallery where you could do this. I feel kind of shitty linking to pictures on other sites.

A bit more than a week ago I bought a new monitor, 24" WUXGA and some more ram (2gb->4gb). Every day I've been fighting the urge to buy a PS3, but I'm going to need a blu-ray eventually, so I think I'll fold when the MGS bundle comes out. So many things I want to just waste money on...

I got the wife and her best friend reservations at a day spa. They are both teachers (she has first grade and her friend third grade this year) so I made them reservations for a day of relaxation on the last day of school, kids are released at 11AM and their appointment is for noon.

Don't you love that. Birthday, Christmas, Father's Day.... I buy my own gifts without knowing what they are until I open them, it's bullshit.
I've thought about doing the wine pairings/tasting but my wife hates wine so that will be one I'll have to save for when she kicks me out.

I may just be extremely whipped ( probably ) but my wife hasn't worked for 3 years and she buys me shit all the time and that's not the way I look at it. I mean, it's our money even though I earn it.

In my own defense, I didn't really want to show up to a reception in pinstripes.
I recently purchased a laptop and a xbox360. I already own a PS3 and decently working laptop.

I didn't think he was downplaying his wife's contributions. Got the feeling he was just trying to point out that he contributes monetarily. Not that one is better than the other.
Edit: If I'm wrong and that isn't what he meant then...he can kiss my fucking ass.

I flew my family and immediate friends out to DC fo my graduation, put them in a five star hotel and took them out to dinner @ a nice ass restaurant.
For 5 of them, it was their first time riding on an airplane and my friends little brother decided that he wanted to go to college.
4 grand well spent.

For me, I'm buying a laptop as soon as I can commit to one. I'm looking for something small and light, but could play a game if it had to. I'm thiking the Dell XPS 1330. I already have an old laptop and a desktop. Oh, I'm also looking at making myself another desktop too, in case I decide to try Conan.
I spend frivolously all of the time though. Between the cafeteria, food court, happy hours, pizza, and other unnecessary crap, I probably blow 200 a week.

If you hated getting ganked in WoW, you will absolutely hate AoC on a pvp server. It's a complete free for all environment.

I need to commit to buying a gaming desktop. Playing WoW on my laptop isn't cutting it any more, and I might want to try AoC once the gankfest has died down.
Any good suggestions on desktops? My current one is from 2003, so lol at that. And don't suggest Alienware, bob.

I got pissed off two and a half months ago at not finding dress shoes at Payless that wouldn't not do the thing, where if you wear them for a day, they end up fucking your outer ankle up. I ended up dishing out $200-something bucks for a pair of Mephistos.
SSDD with some $100 sandals, also made by Mephisto, which have seen more foot than a Klaive fetish. Probably shoe and clothing-related stuff, when I rarely do buy shoe and clothing-related stuff, which is pretty much never. I think if I was patient, and wanted to use words in sentences that took the form of questions, directed at women/men-women, I could probably save myself money. I don't take it beyond "Cool sneaks, man."
We could probably save a lot of money on our wardrobe if we asked lotsa queer/metro inquiries. Life is complicated.

This weekend I have a house full of people for my Baby Shower #1. I haven't done the spending yet, but we have reservations for 8 at a Japanese Steakhouse and we're going to foot the bill without anyone knowing...we'll be stealthy ninja like.
Plus we always BBQ for Memorial Day so we'll have even more people than that here on Sunday for the traditional food outing.
It seems frivolous, but the time will be well spent surrounded by family and friends and booze I can't drink....well...the booze I can't drink part will suck heh.
