It's back! Former contestants from last year Evan (Rocket) and Monica (Jet) are now Gladiators. There's also a new chick Phoenix. On NBC tonight at 8 pm est.

I always wanted to be a contestant :medieval:

I reiterate my former claim that if you ever DO go on there, I'm gonna be there with a big banner that says:

"Allereli, the 718er!"

I always wanted to do that one event where the gladiator is in the front of an obstacle course with a gatling gun with tennis ball ammo and you had to try and shoot him/her with Nerf like weapons.

I remember reading an interview with one of the original gladiators where he said the team buses were just one giant orgy / sharing of pain meds.

I always wanted to be on the show too... I feel like I'd do pretty well, especially since I could dominate The Eliminator at the end. I'm built for obstacle courses/races. Plus, it'd be so much fun.

they sure beat the shit out of the contestants in the new ones. i dont remember them being so rough back in the day. I guess you better be prepared if your going on that show.

watching the amputee was inspiring, but at the same time so painful.

The contestants have the most awfully rehearsed lines for every stinking question, makes the show seem so fake.

Yeah, the amputee... seemed like an awesome guy. Couldn't seem to get the hang of ROCKET BALL, though. Hitting the button when he didn't even have a ball in his hand to ROCKET WITH? Lame.

The best part of the show is when Hogan has THREE (3) teleprompters (one to his left, one to his right, and one in front of him) when he interviews the contestants and he STILL can't read em right.

Brother. C'mon dude. You can do it, brother. You know what, dude, that was an awesome showing, brother.

The amputee thing was painful to watch. It reminded me of the trainwreck that is Extreme Makeover Home Edition - faux feeling and empowerment for ratings boosts.

i wonder how long they let him struggle with the travelator before turning it off. They didn't keep the timer going on the bottom of the screen like they did with the women who took over ten minutes.
