So.. since we've all known them, but they're usually scattered throughout the various merchant threads, I figured I'd make one here.

Rogane [Merchant]: "Selling a a perfect maoral-handled vultite flail which is 5x and perfectly forged. only 7lbs, blessable. Hits like a claidhmore and swings a lot faster. TTM
You [Merchant]: "A flail, even perfect, doesn't hit even close to a claidhmore."
Rogane [Merchant]: "Just a matter of opinion, any willing to see can if they want."
Spinne [Merchant]: "Actually, it isn't a matter of opinion. A perfect flail hits harder than a real flail but nothing like a claidhmore."
You [Merchant]: "Nawps. It's not opinion at all. And unless you're charging the same price as a five enchant claid, then you don't think it hits like a claidhmore either."
Rogane [Merchant]: "Of course I'm not charging 100m, unless you want to pay it."
Rogane [Merchant]: "More like 85m...but don't correct me on that."
You [Merchant]: "So it hits like a claidhmore, and is faster.. but you're not gonna charge the same price as a same enchant claid? Why?"
Rogane (Focused) [Merchant]: "Dude drop it...I'm just making hype about it....by you talking about it even more your just making people wonder what we are talking about...I mean I know it doesn't hit exactly like a claidhmore, but it hits hard as shit...its exaggeration."

Kimbalkinnison. I patiently waited on him to get back to me about a question on some armor from his shop, without complaining (even after he admittedly forgot to check this weekend like he said he would). I made an offer on the stipulation that he'd take a minute to pcalc the armor, since it turned out it had a script, and I wanted to be sure of the cost before I bought it (since a surcharge would mean I wouldn't have enough points to pad it, and it would be useless). This was all done in e-mails pretty much.
I thought to him in game this evening since he doesn't use AIM to discuss the sale with him. He said he was too busy to come by Wayside and talk to me, so I asked if he'd be able to do it later, said i'd be around for awhile. Told him he could check for me at Wayside or think to me and i'd meet up with him if he got a few minutes to handle the sale. This is what transpired:
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "Whats to talk about?"
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "Um, the pcalc issue. I want to check if that one script will cause a surcharge in points when I go to pad it. If it will, I won't have enough points to pad the armor and therefore it'll be useless to me. I'll need to get a scroll from FWI with the brig in my hand and type pcalc padding (or you will). That will say how much it will cost to pad."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "Well I have probably 30 more imbeds to do, dont know that I want to take the time, I may just put it in my shop here and see what happens to it."
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "Are you serious? It takes like a freaking minute to pcalc it. Whatever, if it's such a hassle then i'm not interested in doing business with you."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "No sweat, up to you, no need to get mad about it, I'm working under a rather short time frame tonight and have to finish this stuff, and there is no circumstance where I'll put it in your hands without payment anyway."
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "Of course there's a need to get irritated. I never said it had to be done right this second, but for you to say that you don't want to take the one minute to pcalc it so I can be sure i'll have the points to pad it is a crap thing to say, and frankly bad business."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "Sorry but I dont see that and it will certainly take more than a minute to go to FWI, get a scroll, do whatever youre saying and then come back here, I was good enough to pull it off my table in Icemule and now before I put it back I have to have it sung to again, that's a real pain here, finding a bard I trust, etc. I went out of my way to bring it here and that's enough. Now if you want to do this other stuff it certainly could not be tonight, so hooking up with you again is another hassle."
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "What a joke. I wait on you for days to get back to me without complaint, and yet meeting up with me tomorrow night for 5 minutes would be a hassle, when it means you'd probably make a sale? You didn't go out of your way to remove the item from a shop, you did it so you could make a sale. Oh by the way, i'm a bard and I could have sung to it for you if I chose not to purchase. Way to burn your bridges, pal! Whatever, you're a joke. Have a good one."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "I wont be around tomorrow and probably not until this weekend at the earliest, that's why I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done tonight and even tonight I have to leave soon."
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "Then you could've just said that and I would've had no issues waiting even more time for you. Instead you chose to be rude. Whatever, it's done with."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
[Private] Kimbalkinnison: [General]: "Whatever, your loss, not mine."
You focus your mind on Kimbalkinnison and think:
[General]: "Mmmhmm, if you say so! Bbye!"
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
So he doesn't know what pcalc is (said so in his e-mails and reinforced in the statement "do whatever youre saying"), but he's convinced i'm wrong and it'll take a really long time? (If it takes you more than a minute or two to type turn <FWI item>, run to the lighthouse (10 seconds of directional commands, tops), grab a scroll and with the brig in your hand type pcalc padding, then you need to learn to type faster.)
OMG, he was good enough to pull it from his shop for me! And, you know, to MAKE A SALE!! LOL. Man, I can't even roll my eyes any harder. He's a lazy douche, and unless you feel like wasting your time, i'd suggest you don't try to do business with him.

I just can't get over the fact that he really thinks he went out of his way to do something, like it's a favor to me. He could've said up front that he didn't want to check and I would've said ok, i'm not interested, you have a great day. But he was doing it to make a sale, not as a fucking favor to me. What does he expect, I should be fanning him with a giant feather fan and feeding him grapes while he sits on his lazy ass? Please.

Drevihyin is always around Icemule and he rests in TC so there's pretty much a trustworthy bard available. Unless, I don't know... he's playing on Australia time or something.
What are you trying to buy? If it is super cheap I can understand his reluctance to interrupt what he's doing to go the extra mile. Then again, even at that point, I don't think I would "just put it in my shop here and see what happens to it."

6x brig. Not super cheap but also not high end. Still several million. It's not like i'd ask him to pcalc some 3x leathers or something :P
However I never asked him to interrupt. I was patient for days and would've been for more had he not been a douche.

You could have done the pcalc with the time you guys spent on that convesation. I guess he didn't have time though....

Right? LOL
I did it earlier on those doubles I bought from Izzy and it seriously took me less than a minute to get on FWI and type pcalc pad.
