Unconverted Shields

What exactly does unconverted mean? I've got a 7x shield that's been altered. Originally it was a veniom bound rolaren tower shield. I believe it converts to a medium. Mechanically, how is that different than a newer 'true' tower shield? How would I convert it? SHOULD I convert it?

If you train in dodge, a large shield is meh.

If you train heavily in shield, a large shield provides extra BLOCK of EBP.

Converting it would make it a tower shield, if it isn't already. Every shield that existed in the game before shield type mattered is a medium shield; you can convert it to make it the type of shield it actually is. Shields depreciate in value when they've been converted, however, because they're not as universally useful.

To convert it, go to one of the conversion portals in-game. There's on in the armory in the landing. West of TSSW, in the armory, then the east room I believe. Put it in the portal or go in the portal and it'll do the work for you.
