I have this old silver-edged vruul skin thigh-sheath. Its pin-worn, weighs 3 lbs, opens/closes, and can hold a 12 lb claidhmore. Only holds 1 item from what I can tell.

Also has a small action when you remove a weapon from within.

>get clai
A deafening screech pierces the air as your vruul skin thigh-sheath unwillingly releases your corroded claidhmore.

Any thoughts on its value?

They've been anywhere from 250k - 1m. They are a pseudo-AI crystal, as they make different noises per the weapon's properties. Weighting (possibly as specific as crit weighting) makes the deafening screech, for instance.

Nope.

That's just a sheath with the same sound for ANY weapon.

About 100-200k.

And this is the sound for weighting on an AI sheath.

>get my greataxe from my workb
You remove an eonake-edged tempered heavy greataxe from in your canvas workboots.
>put great in sheath
You slide your greataxe into your sheath with a satisfying *SWOOSH*.

AI sheaths don't make a noise when you draw the weapon, only when you sheathe it.

thefarmer is correct. The silver-edged vruul skin thigh-sheath came from the shop Sonorous Sheaths and Such at the 2004 Ebon Gate, and makes that sound whenever a weapon is removed from it, regardless of properties.

The AI sheaths were sold at the 2002 and 2003 Artisan Faires in the shop Klintar's Super Sheaths. They would make various sounds depending on weapon properties when the weapon was put in them, not when removed from them.

Completely unrelated.

Heh, nah. I just happen to remember stuff like that. All I did was quickly check my records to find out which year the vruul skin thigh-sheath was sold.

Don't hate. Without Nilandia, 90% of us wouldn't have as much fun with our hobby!

He had, eh, a serpent, wolf, I want to say some kind of cat, maybe a bear. And definitely war griffin living sheaths. You had to actually have war griffin pelts for the latter. Their third person room scripts when hidden are neat as well.
