Does anybody know how to defend against this? Something to train in for the vortex to pass by with no effect, or at least to lessen the Rt? There is little to no hope of surviving once caught. :(


[Old Ta' Faendryl, Foothill Base]
A narrow path leads up the side of a steep foothill to the south and winds down into a wide, shallow valley to the west. To the east, the landscape stretches out into a wide open meadow. A series of ridges, crisscrossed into rectangles and squares, covers the ground. The slender mounds of earth and stone mark the final remains of the structures that once huddled within the shadow of the city walls. You also see a windy vortex, an Ithzir adept and the Shalla disk.
Obvious paths: northeast, west

The silvery luminescence fades from around you.
You feel your extra strength departing.
Your SIGN OF WARDING is no longer effective.
The air calms down around you.
The light blue glow leaves you.
You become solid again.
The misty halo fades from you.
The deep blue glow leaves you.
You sense that your attunement to the minds of others has ceased.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around you.
The powerful look leaves you.
You lose your extra internal fortitude.
Your SIGN OF STAUNCHING is no longer effective.
You notice your blood flow go back to normal.
The bright luminescence fades from around you.
Your senses are no longer as sharp.
Your SIGN OF DEFLECTION is no longer effective.
You feel less confident than before.
Your SIGN OF SHIELDS is no longer effective.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.

A satisfied rumbling comes from within the greater construct.

The Shalla disk disintegrates, dropping everything on the ground.

Training Physical Fitness is a large factor with the initial cast of Call Wind; I would imagine it would factor into the vortex formula as well.

Then again, this is Gemstone, so probably not.

Now rods, amulets, and everything else ranger made is no longer easily available. Portous stopped taking orders, which leaves only people who are friends with skilled rangers, MA one, are one, or those that buy from the shops. Alchemist shops and suck blow for imbeds.

Get a set of shadow vambracers and teleport while in RT. It's saved my ass too many times to count.

Maybe STR and CON, and definitely racial mods, because my level 0 giant is barely knocked over by wind gusts whereas my buffer Halfling always is. And it's fucking retarded because of that story with the blade of grass competing with the tree and the analogy/moral I won't type out.

But it is so weird, <(' '<) <(' ')> (>' ')> ~__~ kawai!1one AzN pride ._. http://www.forum.gsplayers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif, Shalla, because of what I won't bother to finish typing out. Make no mistake about this.

Encumbrance also has to be tied into dodging those vortices. Since you're able to hunt, you're probably not a Warrior, so I'd check out stuff like encumbrance.

Being a ranger has its perks. The only downside is your 50th level spell blows.
