Fuck I hate when people bump to say they sold their shit. I don't fucking understand it. Are you bumping to shows us how fortunate you are, or to warn people who were interested? They could have just looked themselves when you edited it? It is pointless and it bumps over people who are still actually selling their shit.

Umm ... he was LOOKING to get in contact with the person that bought his character 2 months ago. Not brag that he sold him.

He bumped as a courtesy (just as everyone else that bumps) to save everyone else the time of contacting him (just as everyone else that bumps).

Think it through. Would you rather sit there and answer a few PMs every time you log on? Or would you rather just make a post and avoid wasting everyone's time?

Yeah I have no problem with this set of cirucumstances, I agree that some bumps of "x item sold" make no sense when you could just edit the item in the original post to reflect that (because any prospective new buyer is going to look at the original post), but when it's a "hey if anyone comes across y let me know" followed by a bump to get everyone who's marked in the back of their mind "y = contact poster" to say don't worry about it anymore, seems fine.

If you would please look at my original post you would see I said I wasn't talking about him. When infact I was talking about people overall who bump their posts saying it was sold.

You could easily edit the post and put SOLD. This way the next person who looks at it knows it is sold.

Further more if a person already saw the post and was thinking about buying it, he would probably go to the Thread in question and look at it again before PM'ing the person. It is pointless to bump a Sold product.

Then heaven forbid that someone PM's you without reading the thread over again (Easilly combatted by making "Sold" seen) you could politely say it has been sold. But then again if you had to bump your previous stuff you probably don't have that much interest anyways.
