I can't figure this out. Every time I push on the gargoyle, I get "that would accomplish nothing". So I try to skip right to pushing the letters, all I get is, "what were you reffering too?) This is driving me nuts. Any help would be great.

I figured out what I did. got invited, then reset my society. I thought I'd reset first. Stupid mistake. Got it all figured out now though.
