Is there any way I can effectively lower the cocking time on a heavy crossbow? Right now six (sometimes five if lucky) seconds plus the two for firing seems hardly worth it.

Stats:

Normal (Bonus) ... Enhanced (Bonus)
Strength (STR): 91 (20) ... 91 (20)
Constitution (CON): 61 (0) ... 61 (0)
Dexterity (DEX): 91 (30) ... 91 (30)
Agility (AGI): 92 (26) ... 92 (26)
Discipline (DIS): 71 (0) ... 71 (0)
Aura (AUR): 71 (20) ... 71 (20)
Logic (LOG): 52 (1) ... 52 (1)
Intuition (INT): 52 (6) ... 52 (6)
Wisdom (WIS): 60 (10) ... 60 (10)
Influence (INF): 32 (-14) ... 32 (-14)

I have cman surge, but it didn't seem to help at all.

Last I knew it was entirely dependent on strength and encumbrance.

Hm, I seem to be getting seven seconds sometimes. I'm lightly encumbered and have 91 STR so I'm not really sure.

Yea dont think they changed anything pretty sure its Strength Based reducers. Wizard Strength, Cman Surge maybe, Phoen's Strength and then your actual stat. Can you reduce a Heavy below 5 seconds though? Didn't think you could. Oh and I think standing helps there as well if your doing it whilst kneeling. Throw race in there for good measure.

Maybe I should just go bow then ;o
I use cman surge and it didn't seem to help too much, though I did get it to five on several occasions. I always stand when I cock it because it forces to offensive and thats a tad dangerous.

And just one more question:
With a high strength, should I go for composite or just stick with a long bow?

<<Can you reduce a Heavy below 5 seconds though? Didn't think you could.>>

I vaguely remember cocking a heavy crossbow in 3 seconds when I was an archer, but I might be thinking of something else. The crossbow was just for one shotting noobs.

<<With a high strength, should I go for composite or just stick with a long bow?>>

I used to use a composite bow without a problem. I had composite, short, and heavy crossbow on me at all times, and those are the only weapons I really ever used.

I'm going to keep the crossbow and just have a crossbow and composite with me for whatever reason. Mostly just because I just bought the crossbow and don't want to find a buyer.

Thanks for the help.

Yea I may be entirely wrong on the minimum RT but I know I never preferred it over a composite bow by any means. I liked having a dual xbow for the oh shit moments when I needed a stun asap.
