Promotion

So, I'm a little confused about the sorcerer guild promotion mechanics. Do I have to get a guild master to promote me, or can anyone with more ranks than me promote me?

I am eligible for promotion in the illusion skill, but can't find anyone to promote me. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never been in the sorc guild, but the NPC guildmaster can generally promote.

Guild masters can promote in any skill regardless of their ranks in it.

A master of Illusions can promote in illusions, master of alchemy in alchemy, and so forth.

I don't think any of the NPC guildmasters ever leave their office. You can just "ask Baire about next [skill]" to be promoted, but it's always nice to give the PC guildmasters the free xp, especially if we're the ones doing partner reps with you.

Maybe I didn't use the right vergiage then...

I tried asking the NPC for a promotion, but didn't get one.

I believe the verbiage I used was,

>Ask **insert NPC guildmaster's name here** about promotion

>**NPC guildmaster's name** give you a strange look.

OK, looks like I did use the wrong vergiage.

Incidentally, if there is a sorcerer in Vaalor that can promote me to the next rank in illusions, I'll let you do that for the free exp, rather than use the NPC if you want.

Look for Haaplo and ask him about it. He has asked several times, but no one has stepped forward to promote him.

haha, there are 11 total guildmasters, 2 are MIA from GS right now, 1 is a Tsin zombie, and you'll rarely find any of the rest of us in Vaalor, but I'll be there later tonight for the event if you need some help and double reps.

Alright. I won't be in until after 8 pm central tonight.

As I said, I wasn't sure if a PC had to be a guildmaster to promote other PCs, or if a PC with more ranks than me could promote me. Sounds like a PC has to be a guildmaster to promote me.

I dont know why I am even mentioning it except that the first time I saw it I thought it was neat. Every once in a blue moon Dante from the rogue guild in Wehnimer will say directly too you that he has some business to take care of and leave for exactly 1 minute then come right back. I have never seen any other guild master take off, including rogue guild masters in other towns.
