NCAA Football '09

I admit I never played '08 for a next-gen, but '09 looks really fucking fun. Granted, I've been rocking '07 on the PSP for the past 2 months, so even the PS2 version looks great to me.

Looks like they added some cool shit. New build-specific models, even more updated stadiums and crowds, mascots look great, awesome looking jukes, etc.

Also, McFadden was named 360's cover athlete a while back and more recently, Sparty (MSU's mascot) was named the Wii cover.

Suffice it to say, I can't fucking wait for football season. Let the countdown to July 15th (release date) begin.

08 was so bad I got bored after 1 full season and haven't played it since. Recruiting was FUCKING HORRIBLE.

Says they redid recruiting. I've always loved recruiting in the series.

What else was wrong with the game? I wasn't a big fan of the kicking system in 07. Oh, they also upped the PS3 version to 60 fps.

In 08 there was almost no long passes. DB's manage to get a hand on about 95% of the passes. Even if said DB is 15 yards behind the receiver.

Btw, Bomb Pass-> PA+ QB Vision + Tap forward and float it = TD... at least on 360.

Recruiting was the same thing over and over and over, and it required way too much time. I don't want to spend 20 minutes between each game calling recruits to get the same answers.

You had to set the interception slider way back to make teh game realistic and yes PA passes were absolutely broken. You could either throw a pick 50% of the time or call PA and have receivers running wide open.

Running QBs were absolutely unstoppable when playing a human opponent with any relative skill.

The graphics were barely a step up from the previous year and in no way represented what is possible with the PS3.

They took all TD celebrations out of the players hands and left it to jsut randomness. I want to dunk it over the crossbar damn it.

I'm sure there were other things.

After I got the Mr. February achievement on the 360 I just simulated recruiting afterwards. It was damn near as effective and nowhere near as boring/tedious.

Doh... it's a 360? I sold mine like what a year ago now.

I'm picking up a new playstation soon however. I hate any ea sports games on 360. :( It's the fucking controller and controls mainly after 1,000,000 hours on a playstation. PS controls and controller become an extension of your body after that long on EA sports games.

My old XBOXs are used for music and dvd playing in each of my kids rooms. Never really liked em.

I still use my ps1 and ps2 in comparison.

I've heard one horrible thing after another about this game. I'm glad I held off buying it.

Sounds like the defense AI is god awful and if you even have a moderate amount of skill you can shred any team anytime you want with the short passing game.

Other complaints have been that the kick coverage is ridiculous and you give up 20+ yards EVERY time you kick.

Curious of those of you that bought this if you are enjoying it, or if it is just another shitty version like last years.

I enjoy it a lot; granted, I never played 08. I'm really bad at this one though, gonna take some time to get good.

The kick coverage is pretty bad, but you gotta remember they just changed the rules in NCAA to kickoff from the 30 which inherently loses you 5 yards.

See, I feel the same way about the Playstation controllers. I fucking hate them. And I've invested man, many hours in my old Playstation and Playstion 2. The XBox controllers just feel better to me.
