Did anyone else have a phenomenal day today:xmb:

Mine was extraordinary.

Today was my day off. Normally I would grab some food and beers and fire up a game and watch movies... I got an email about work that I could have very easily handled over the phone. But the weather was so nice out I decided to go in to work just to get out.

I showered, washed my hair and threw on my favorite Lucky 7 jeans I bought in Las Vegas and sneakers I bought in Shibuya Tokyo, a white t-shirt my mom gave me from Mexico with “Los Peyoteros” across the front under a grey cashmere v-neck sweater my little sister gave me which I figured would probably be the last day of the season I could wear it.

On the way to work I was hungry and decided to stop at a restaurant owned by my uncle. Its Tex-Mex and I had been craving it all week. Not only did I satiate my craving for the food but I was able to visit with my uncle and his children, the youngest daughter of which is pregnant, and we reconnected after too long a time. My uncle told me a story that he beat his father at chess in order to gain his consent to marry his current and only wife!!!

My next stop was my barber. I’ve been going to her for 5 years. She is a very cute Vietnamese woman and that adds to me liking to go there but she really has a talent for making me look young and handsome. Anyway, before today she has been so down. She had health problems, went through a divorce... she has three children. The past year she has been very down. But today I walked in and she’s sporting a brand new dew with highlights and she is just a ray of sunshine. The transformation, and conversation, were really delightful.

Then off to work. With having seen so many friendly faces today it was in great spirits that I walked into my place of business ON MY DAY OFF. And happy to see the familiar faces there. Plus one unfamiliar face.

I conducted the business I had set out to conduct, chatted with my colleagues over important but not pressing issues, then ended up hanging out with one employee and a girlfriend of hers, from Bosnia of all places, she brought along today.

We end up going bar hopping and within a few hours its been decided that I am the Bosnian woman’s date tomorrow night and we seal the deal with a make-out on the hood of her BMW out on the street in front of every storefront in our little neighborhood. She had a prior appointment and even though I did not want it to end there it was good that it did.

I go back into work and there are some clients there that are very valuable to me so I went to talk with them. One couple ends up asking me to double date with them... which is just too cute I can’t really describe it all here, and another who is an artist in the area with his wife and a woman who just flew in from Chicago.

Now here I am, back at home safe and sound and sober having acquired some beers before the shops closed absolutely amazed and reminiscing at how this day has been so magic.

I've been working on a software release into an environment of 61,000+ computers. It's set to release in phases and is being pushed via altiris. I've been working with the myriad of different groups within the company to determine if it will interfere with any of their current business critical applications and if so putting them into exepmt status so they don't get the push.....Altiris group (the guys that manage the servers and distribution) fucked up the exepmtion lists so yesterday was trying to undue their fuck up. It's not a simple unistall and you're good to go. Fuck.

Yesterday was strange. I had to work in the morning, change into a suit for my Trial Practice mock trial final, meet with some female Democratic politicians of MA for no reason that I could possibly discern other than the fact that the BC Law Dem President thought we should network with them, then I had to go to my one (other) class of the day where we talked about how the Pope was left of the Democrats when it came to immigration policy (the class is Catholic Social Thought and the Law).

Then I had my Trial Practice final where I was the Commonwealth and I WTFpwned the defendant, who was a drunk driver who tried to pretend he was sick the day of, which is why he couldn't take the breathalyzer.

Then I had a few fundraisers to go to (around Marathon time people are all trying to raise money so they can run the race), and then I went to a birthday party. Hurricane O'Reilly's was closed, the Harp was dead, so we went to Fan Hall to Ned Devine's, and there was a FUCKING 80s night party (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/2008/01/27/29-80s-night/) going on. I was with all white people, so they thought this was a fantastic idea. I looked around, and I was literally the only person with skin darker than a spray on tan. Except for the DJs, who were both black.

An abundance of leg warmers over leggings, off the shoulder shirts, and side ponytails were to be seen. It was crazy. Fucking white people.
