Annoying things about the holidays

To keep if fairly short, list your top five reasons why you hate the holidays.

BAH FUCKING HUMBUG!!!

5. Pretending I like family members I hate.

4. Driving to my parents house in the snow.

3. Hearing people bitch that I didn't come to see them because I didn't have the time.

2. Buying someone a gift you really don't like but have to buy for and then hearing their smart ass remarks about the gift.

1. I'm not religous or anything but the meaning of Christmas has been lost.

I can't bust on New Years. I'm gonna get drunk off my ass and make a total fool of myself. hehehe

#4.. Shopping (Long lines, Tons of People searching for the best deals)
#3.. Wrapping (I'm not very good, otherwise I would probably enjoy it, guess I need more practice.)
#2.. Driving (The weather is bad, so driving is going to be TERRIBLE. Slow ass drivers in the fast lane, Grrrr.)
#1.. People in General (For some reason people seem to get lazy and slow on the holidays. Oh, we have all the time in the world so lets go 60 on the highway, lets stand in the middle of the aisle so nobody can get through, lets have the kid run back right before checkout because you forgot something.

Be glad you have a family to complain about. You could instead be spending Christmas with a woman who ropes cattle for a living, and spends her spare time passing out your personal secrets to weirdo trolls on the internet.

Even though I'm not really celebrting Christmas this year, I still ventured out to the mall to buy a few gifts. So yeah, I have a list.

5) The other drivers seem to have become insane maniacs, who will cut you off, then flip you off for honking at them for it.

4) Parking lots are the worst part of the nightmare. I'm suprised more people aren't injured over parking space squabbles during the holidays.

3) The other customers in the stores are rude, and irrational. They stop in front of you and block the isle, then snarl at you if you stop in front of them.

2) The cashiers and other store employees are all suffering from holiday burn out. God help you if you can't find something and insist on help.

1) The thing I hate most is trying to pick out gifts for people. Clothing is out, because you have to know a size. Everything else that's affordable seems petty. I'm doing a lot of gift certificates this year.

I work as a jailer in out county jail. I'm working a double shift on Christmas day. After my shopping experience, I think I'll probably be safest at work. :rolleyes:

I'm a big shopper year round so this time of year is no different.

I spent 4 years away from snow so I miss it.

My brother and I have gotten each other the same gift for the last 6 years. Nothing. We spend our money on the little rug rats. Christmas is just a good time to be with my family so I could care less if I only get socks, hell I look forward to them socks!

1) Jackass drivers.

2) How you stop to look at one thing that no one else is looking at..then seconds later you have 15 people crowding you trying to see what you are looking at.

4) The constant bell ringing from the homeless people of Salvation Army.

OK see this is why I hate the holiday's. I found out that my aunt that was 3 mo. pregnant passed away 2 days ago. Apparently she was run over by a plow and died. Insane isn't it? So I'm off helping the family getting prepared for this whole week. I didn't even want to spend any time with my family, Jesus Christ!

Reasons I am not looking forward to Christmas:

1. First one without my Mom
2. Having to buy, wrap, and send presents to husband's mom even though I love her. She's not mine.
3. Being away from my family and friends
4. Guilt and not feeling comfortable about talking to others about Christmas because my husband is home for it and they are all upset because their's are in Iraq.
5. It is so commercialized someone once asked me who Jesus is while buying a Christmas tree.


Reasons the last reason's aren't getting me down:

1. My daughter, she isn't old enough to know it is a special day but she makes it special for us.
2. Rick's family is wonderful and made special efforts to reach out to us and let us know they wish they were with us this holiday season.
3. Helping other families who don't have their loved ones celebrate with people who understand.
4. My husband IS home and dammit I have a right to be happy about it.
5. We know the meaning of Christmas. Not just religously, but about bringing joy to others and not just yourself.
