I've planned this so far for my little rogue... who just hit 7.
Armor Use..........................| 40 8 (1x)
Shield Use.........................| 40 8 (1x)
Combat Maneuvers...................| 40 8 (1x)
Edged Weapons......................| 82 18 (2x)
Ambush.............................| 74 16 (2x)
Physical Fitness...................| 40 8 (1x)
Dodging............................| 40 8 (1x)
Harness Power......................| 10 2
Disarming Traps....................| 102 24 (3x)
Picking Locks......................| 102 24 (3x)
Stalking and Hiding................| 90 20 (2.5x)
Perception.........................| 74 16 (2x)
Pickpocketing......................| 40 8 (1x)
My hopes is to get up to 404 and then use my extra points to raise CM. This going to be able to hunt and pick fully?
Going to keep my Edge in that one overtrain part until the bonus is 1as per train and then skip a training for the points.

Yep. Its the same as my little archers plan, only I trained in ranged instead of edged.

I'd drop hiding from 2.5x to 2x and up dodging. Nothing at lower levels is going to spot ya at 2x.

I think your DS is gonna suffer a bit much with only 1x shield and dodge. And if you're only concerned with picking your own boxes, 3x is overkill if you have the lores.

im in my late 70s with my rogue, and am roughly 2.5x picking skills, and can open boxes from OTF with ease and i don't hunt there...im sure 2x will be sufficient for your own boxes, and some rogue is absolutely right your DS is going to suffer without upping your dodging

That's a very good plan, but I agree with dropping stalking and hiding down to 2x and making sure you get 2x dodge.
I wouldn't worry about 2x dodge in the lower levels though. If you placed your stats for growth, you should eventually get the TPs per level to support it.

Yeah, you definitely want to 2x dodge, and if you're going to be locksmith heavy, 2x hiding is probably fine, at least for the first 40 levels. If you're going to 3x disarming, you can also probably get by with 1x in perception, too.

Great training plan, but you might want to add 5-10 ranks of arcane symbols to disarm scarabs with.
Also, as far as perception is concerned, I would train 1-2x until you hit 120 ranks in perception, then possibly stop. With 3x in disarming, and 120 ranks you can see any trap in the lands.
(assuming you only train 1 or 2x in perception, which means you'd be at least 56 trainings with 174 ranks in disarming)

for the most part this will probably come later on in the character's life when his stats have grown more and can afford it without sacrificing his combat skills. i waited till i was in my mid to late 50s before i started training in either and now with 40 ranks in swimming and 35 in climbing seems i can go anywhere in the lands...the swim to OTF is a breeze, swim to the rift is cake, haven't tried temple nelemar yet though im told i might want to boost my swimming to 50 ranks before i hit nelemar but thats 20 phys only...as far as climbing is concerned i hunted the rift so that was no problem, hell the climbing it takes to get into fire mages on teras seemed harder than the rift and i hunted there for a good 15 or so levels...so what im trying to say is...right now climbing and swimming really isn't needed just yet =P

It all just depends on where he plans on spending his younger trainings...
But Solitare is right, I'd train in them as the need arises, they're pretty much the least expensive skill you have.

Right now, I dropped lockpick/disarm to 2.5x and wanted to get into Brig by 14 so I can have a bit of protection...
I suppose I can try to get my dodge up to 2x after that and leave it at 2.5x disarm/lock or maybe even drop to 2x...
I really do want to be able to hunt and not ONLY pick. I want to be able to pick all my own boxes as I've never really been able to collect boxes and whatnot on my characters...
