Hi everyone-
I've taken a break from GS for the past few years or so, having deleted my character and now starting up again.
I know there was some sort of mess involving Khaladon and others left at the same time as him. I was wondering which GMs have left in the past few years? If there is another topic that references this, I would appreciate it.
Is Kyalia still around? Andraste?
Also, what else is new? Obviously would be hard to get information on everything, but highlights would be good.
Thanks!
Liz.
Firstly, are you Lysander?

No, I swear to god that is not me. I have quite a few multis but that ones NOT me. I've been seeing a rash of these "hi I'm a returning newbie" posts. My personal theory is a
A.) bunch of Simu people are posting to hide the fact that the game is dwindling and in anticipation of quite a few releases to attract the former-player/lurkers of these boards back to the game. "Hey I'm returning how bout you?!"
B.) the less likely theory is that those are genuine returning newbies... if so congrats.
P.S. I know the system mods can detect IP addresses and stuff and they can CONFIRM that these new "returning newbies" are not me.

A new Society, A new profession (Paladins) if you have been gone long enough, new hunting grounds. New Spells, and of course, The Adventurer's Guild.

FYI-
I am genuinely a returner.
Can't believe Kyalia and Khaladon are gone. Two of my favorites.
In terms of game mechanics, is there anything I should be aware of? I tried looking up the new player's guide but didn't seem different at all.

You can roll a warrior because nothing has changed in that profession since 1942 and the warsaw pact. If you want to get really ambitious you can roll up a semi, such as a bard who I think is the best profession to play in terms of versatility and fun. And remember monks will come out this year, Kitrina the assistant product manage already stated that most of the monk profession and unarmed combat is done. So, it'll be out.

It's the sunfist society look through the events boards above this board and look for sunfist society for all the details.

Look for posts here outlined OFFICIAL, those are re-posts of releases copied from the Simutronics site.

Well, here's a question. Since I last played, I got a Macbook Pro, so can no longer use Wizard FE as I can't use Mac Classic. The only thing I can use is the Mac Java, but that really sucks, and eScape is only for PCs. I haven't seen the option to use Stormfront either...is that gone?
Any suggestions?

Have you tried the Avalon front end? It's coded specifically for Macs.

Get Parallels and then you can run Windows and either Wizard or SF. It can all be downloaded.

OK, I found the Avalon (weird that it was in the sidebar download section, not under the FrontEnd page with all the rest)...
Now here's a problem. Does anyone use Avalon? I can't seem to find a way to add or run scripts. Anyone know?
All this help is greatly appreciated, btw.

I know at one point you had to find and install a scripting plugin. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but I think it is because they wanted to give the people who use it a better scripting engine than they could officially release. However, I don't remember what it's called. I'm not a big fan of Avalon. Under the Simu boards there's a wizard fe section (not the gemston iv boards, the simu ones for all games) that has people post regularly about Avalon.. and someone has it in their sig

The scripting engine is called YASSE. It's available for download on sourceforge. It runs scripts in the .cmd format. The person who wrote in is a pretty active poster on the official boards, so if you post on their in the front end section, you're likely to get a response.

I do believe the more current versions of Avalon have a built-in scripting engine.
That failing, YASSE is awesome. (Yet Another Simutronics Scripting Engine). I haven't even booted up my G5 in like half a year, guess I should get the new version of Avalon on it. I think it's still running Warlock.
