BEST DS shield/OHE or shield/brawler

which one gives you the most DS?

Some ppl say brawling/shield others say OHE/shield? Which one is it?

anyone have any idea if brawling can be used with a bow (even though an arrow is on your right hand for a split second)

ohe shield, since you get the enchant of the ohe in your defense

If you use a brawling weapon with the same enchant, then you're tie

no?

advantage for brawling over ohe is that you can do it with a empty hand, you dont always have to remember to have your weapon out

Enchant doesn't add to DS anymore, I do not believe. Atleast not for weapons. Therefore, technically, the DS granted by both should be identicle at high levels:

Assuming the Stats remain the same, with the same level of Dodge training, medium shield -
Lvl 100 DS Shield/Edged - 338
Lvl 100 DS Shield/Brawl - 338

I had shield and OHE but switched to brawling with shield. My DS was a lot better with brawling.

Erm no. Depending on the training, stats and situation, the DS is exactly the same. No mechanic differentiates between Brawling DS and Edged DS.

Yes it can be used with a bow. My rogue arches and uses Voln-fu.


Edit to add: If you mean use a brawling weapon.. you can't.. You lose all ranged weapon defense bonuses with anything besides an arrow in your right hand.

Brawling and Shield is awesome. My Cleric is tearing it up using that route with a Vacuum flaring monk's tiger-claw.
