View Full Version : Have you ever fucked yourself over?
Have you ever revealed something that you did that was pretty messed up to someone when you really didn't need to?
I've done this a few times. The stupid thing is... no one needed to know this. It might be a guilty conscience thing, it may be outright stupidity...
Last week I said something to someone that could possibly majorly screw me over. Why? I thought I was good for being honest. Maybe I've burnt too many brain cells?
Is this activity due to moral high ground, or just plain old dumbassness?

My favorite:
"I hooked up with this other girl on Valentines Day, and I felt really guilty after. All I could think about was you. That must mean I really do like you."
Don't ask me what the hell I was thinking...

Hmm. If you want the truth, I would say that doing this is probably one of two things:
A self-destructive moment, brought about by feelings of guilt or unworthiness
or
An effort to test a relationship

Would this information have otherwise been revealed eventually?

What exactly did you do? I can't give an opinion based on the information supplied.

I"ve always found these confessions to almost strangers to be a form of giving information to get information. Or like a confessional, to get it off your chest to someone you might never see again. You know the internet buddy or the kind lady next to you on a plane.

I do this all the time.
Why? It's just kind of part of who I am.. being so honest about myself. And then there are assholes th at will use that against you.
But in the end, I know I'm in the right, because being ho nest about myself and not misrepresenting myself is the best policy, whether people like it or not.
