Fuck cancer. Arg... one of my best friend's mom just died... real young, early/mid fifties. My father's best friend just had his kidney's fail on him due to cancer and doesn't have long at all.

Arg. I'm sorry, I normally see people "crying" on the PC and have very little sympathy for them (it's the wrong place to be looking), but I don't know why this was the first place I came to vent.

Damnit.

I see nothing wrong with it [i mean going here to vent] I did it once but everyone fucking made rude comments.

It's really hard though, man. And I'm sorry that all of this is happening. My best friend's mum died of cancer too so I know how you feel.

Cancer fucking sucks. I don't know anyone who hasn't been affected some way or another by it.

Every male on my dad's side of the family has had cancer.

2 have died as a consequence and 3 have lived.

I FEEL PRETTY GOOD ABOUT MY FUTURE HEALTH. :( :( :(

Oh, and cancer can suck it easy.

This pity party is not for you.

Celephais,

Early deaths are never fun regardless of the means. All you can do is be supportive for the survivors.

My dad had renal carcinoma. He's lucky in that he was doing strenuous enough sports at the time that it aggravated the quasi-encapsulated growth and made things quite visible through urinating.

You can definitely live with one kidney. It (your extra kidney) grows to compensate for the loss of a removed kidney. And you can function normally with only 30% overall kidney function.

I wish one day there could be cancer screenings for everybody, without money or affliction being the key to getting them.

Sorry about that bullshit, Cele.

Appreciate the comments... even the [rude one] (I wasn't expecting to not see "Drop any good loot" or something along those lines)

The kidney failure is a symptom, unfortunately, he has cancer throughout his body. He's come to terms with it though, married his girlfriend earlier this week and has the rest of his family and friends there supporting him. He took a pretty bad turn last night...

... I think I'm gonna pull up the Racoon series of C&H.

Yep, cancer can fuck the big one.

Husband had testicular cancer over two years ago... had surgery and a round of chemotherapy to kick it in the ass, followed by CT scans, blood work, and doctor's appointments every few to six months since. His brother beat (what started as) testicular cancer twice ten years earlier (and now has two little ones!). There's other cancer survivors (and non-survivors, unfortunately) on his side.

*grumble* Cancer can certain fuck off. Way too many people are affected by it these days, and not enough is being done to fight it.

My Mom died of cancer. My husband's mom died of cancer. I have a friend battling cancer (she's only 35) and another friend nursing her mother back to health after a colostomy (bowl cancer).

Fuck cancer indeed. Vent away.

No, he kicked it in the ass... aka, he beat it... he doesn't have it anymore.

C&H also had that one strip where the author sketched a bird he had found, dead, or dying, and the simple beauty it had despite its condition. Both that strip (and the raccoon strip) were in one of my C&H collections, and he talked about how much people responded to those strips especially.

I like the part about disinheriting the earth.

Good luck, man.
