Alright someone tell me what is going on. I pull up to one of their 24 hour drive through windows last night around 1am or so and heres what went down.

I ask for 3 double cheeseburgers, fries and a coke.

Im told the dollar menu is closed.

I'm sure the floor traffic is so slow, they can only justify one type of bun, so they had to pick either QP or regular cheeseburger. Lots more QPs sold.

I did sort of. I asked the guy how much it would cost for him to fire up the grill and the deep fryer to get me my fucking cheeseburger. He said it wasnt gonna happen. Im chuckling over the events today but it was annoying last night.

When I worked at Mickey Ds in High School, there would be no point in closing a part of the menu. A hamburger patty takes all of 46 seconds to cook under the clamshall grill. A quarter pounder patty takes about 90 seconds.

It has to be that franchise you went to who is trying to capitalize on profits so he closes down the dollar menu. Problem is, they most likely take the option away on the touch screen menu, so it makes it physically impossible to order anything that is in that menu.

Retarded, my guess is that they are one of the only 24 hr ones though.

As for heat lamps, they don't use those at McDonald's.

Funny McDs is being brought up. I went to the McDs near me this weekend because it was the only place opened at 3am except for diners I didn't feel like driving too. The kid working the window was 12 years old ( I asked him), said he was helping his mom on her shift. I never got better service from a fast food joint. Fuck child labor laws.

I'm telling you - it's all about the buns. They come in giant racks of 144 or some ridiculous number, and the bag can only be open for X hours before they have to be tossed. So if they let him order, they have then wasted the other 143 (or 142 or 141 depending on how many he orders).

Condiments are the same. Meat is frozen, cooks in no time on the same grill as the QP, and doesn't really matter when you opened the box. Cheese is used on both.

And yes, I am a (long-time-gone) former McD's slave.

What pisses me off about McD’s is they took their “Spanish Bagel” off the breakfast menu. I can still get a sausage bagel with American cheese w/o the fold, but I miss the spicy cheese. :(

Unless things have changed, I gave up eating fast food (though from time to time I do grab something, I'm fat enough kthx), McDonald's only has 3 types of buns. Regular, Big Mac and Seeded Regular. If they are saving their Regular, then there isn't much of anything you could order.

Heh, like we actually pitched shit when the timers went off. Whenever the shit started beeping, we'd just turn it off and set it for another 20 minutes. I never counted nuggets. I'd just take the box and keep scooping them in until the box wouldn't close.
