Not to be a bitch, cuz i'm actually curious. What makes this worth $1700? Or even $1200? $650 or so from the silvers, few hundred from the characters. Was there a big item in here that I missed?

You'll need to read carefully through the list so you don't miss something.
Maybe I should've been more clear. I did read carefully and saw nothing spectacular. The only things really of worth are the bracers from the Winterfest, the 7x leathers, maybe a couple of containers and the glowbark brooch for those who are obsessed with the material. And those aren't worth 30m, heh. So I was wondering where the big ticket items were that make it worth so much to you.
Sthrockmorton
03-26-2008, 09:02 PM
You can get $400 for the characters, $650 for the silvers (if you're patient), and maybe $150-$200 for the items...
That's if it's all sold separately.
With Gemstone's market the way it is. An account package like that is only going to be purchased to be stripped and sold. No one is going to spend over $900 (to make $100-200 return, which is still iffy at best). Your best bet is to break it down Nelek, people won't spend such a large sum in a weak market.

Since there seems to be some concerns about the lower end items adding up to a decent value, I'm going to be selling them off.
The fist-scythe listed has been sold for 100k.
Sthrockmorton
03-26-2008, 10:23 PM
There are not a lot of big ticket items, but a lot of items still add up to a large amount.
1/3rd of that 30m is from the 7x full leather. The other 2/3 comes from adding up all of the other items individually. Either I appraised them too high, or you lowballed them. Either way, with the way things are priced, I think it's a fair starting point, and there is still a potential for a $500 profit from my calculations.
As far as:
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, aside from the silvers and that's all I really have to say about that.
I was trying to give you some friendly advice buddy.
10 million for 7x full leather...MAYBE... 20 mill for the other junk? You must be living in Nelekland
I guess I really don't know what I'm talking about. As Diethx said, Good Luck.
PS, you do realize you're already breaking things apart and selling them seperately, right? I must be an idiot.

Theres a 78th level wizard on GSauction for 500 bucks.

I am setting the minimum bid at $1200 and will accept a buyout of $1500.
I personally appraise the value of all of the items and characters at around $1750, and 'steal'

I actually did that when I retired Durfin back in GSIII. Did a mass coins event in the Landing then handed out all my stuff, except for a stein of ale and my silvery dwarven horned helm and walked over to the Inn. TD bonus shield, krodera studded brig, dual flaring handaxe...

I personally appraise the value of all of the items and characters at around $1750, so there is potential for a rather large profit, for those who would like to invest the time in selling off the accounts piece by piece.
Thanks for the laugh
I don't know many people who would freely give up $1000 worth of stuff.
I do think something worth $1700 selling for $1200 would be a steal though. $500 off? I'll take that.
Ya but...even by your own math its not worth 1700. Closest you Got was 250 for the characters adding to 1200, you have a 20th level bard (??I would rather hunt the character up and pick its name and so would most people) 48th wizard(250-300$) 60th empath(250-300$) = 500-600 - 250 = 250-350 + 1200 = 1450-1550 and thats including your shady item math where 10million + 10million = 30. Point is when people go through the hassle of buying an account they dont want to do this penny pinching math because it makes them think they could lose money. They want to be able to look and say "I could sell this shit at 75% of value and make some money. Otherwise your basically saying "I have merchant work I dont want to do for sale" Buying your account for 1200 you could actually lose money after all was said and done just for the cost of the accounts, transfer fees, paypal fees etc.

But you would lump everything together, with an asking price above the highest possible value and claim they were worth a lot more if someone was enterprising enough to do the leg work, and then deny any accusations of said attempts to make more than it's worth.
Not saying your doing that though, you've given me the impression your not smart enough to attempt that.

Enough of the sniping and trolling already folks. If you have something to say, start your own thread. Your comments aren't necessary.
If you don't believe my stuff is worth what I'm asking for it, don't buy it, it's that simple.

Again, if you don't like the price, don't buy. If you want to discuss what things are worth, go start your own thread, and quit trolling mine.
No, it's not that simple, this is the PC, where if your not shooting strait you get it pointed out. We protect our fellow members from getting shafted, that's what I love about shopping on the PC, if someone puts up a shoddy ass deal, someone else will point it out, so I can know if I'm getting a good deal or not.
If you can't take the scrutiny, don't sell here, it's that simple.

Besides, buyer beware is stupid when it's so easy (literally seconds of someones time) for someone to point out false claims. It just makes for a securer setting here on the PC.

The only problem is that you're wrong. I started the minimum bid lower than what everything would be valued at. You're not protecting anyone, you're just being a troll and proving that you're 12 years old.
The only person getting shafted in this deal, would be me, for offering everything I have for less than what the top dollar value would be.

I didn't have a problem selling my fixskills potion. I also don't seem to have a problem selling items for silvers.
Maybe some of you just need to back off and not harass someone to the point that they would rather remove their gear than to sell to any of you.
Also, the last time I checked $1400 for $1200 is a good deal. I guess you all expect to get it for free, but I'd rather keep it. Just because a few of you snipe and troll doesn't make the account worth less than $1200.

Kinda funny that this all started because one person was curious where the value of your account stemmed from, and then another (me) tried to give you some honest (and not malicious) advice. Diethx was even nice enough to ask if she missed something instead of just calling you out.
However, knowing your account wasn't worth what you claimed, you instantly went on the defensive, even though neither of our posts attacked you. Neither Diethx or myself were sniping or trolling.
As everyone else has pointed out, if the buyers of the PC really thought your account was worth more than $1200, someone would have gladly paid that. Good luck getting rid of your stuff, and as I stated before, you'll have better luck selling it all separately (which you called me an idiot for suggesting, and are now doing... way to prove your point buddy).
PS, pulling all your posts just feeds the fire for a lack credibility on PC, I advise against it. <---- Advice, not an attack

No he doesnt.
As far as credibility, here's a post by one of the most well known merchants around. It doesn't state a whole lot, but I have also sold off several items for the prices I claim they are worth. I don't just make these prices up, what I value them at comes from haggling on the amunet and watching what others sell them for. Most items I have are above average quality, and with that, they carry an above average price tag.
I don't scam people, I'm honest and up front about my stuff and generally I try to be a helpful person in and out of game.
A few of you were stating that the account wasn't even worth $1200. I easily proved it was worth at least $1380, and I left out several things that sell for a million silvers each. With a little time and effort, I know that the items could be sold off separately, generating enough silvers, along with the characters, to be worth $1500, if not more.
At this point, it doesn't really matter, the accounts are no longer for sale, the silvers are not for sale. Was it a good deal for someone? I think so, if you disagree, so be it, it doesn't really matter anymore.

I pulled the posts to avoid questions such as, how much for this, or how much for that. Can I just have this piece, I don't want that piece.
I may end up putting something up for sale, but I'm just going to keep what I have for now and continue to build upon what I've got.
Sad thing is, I have all these silvers and nothing worth buying. What's the point of having 70+ million when nothing being sold interests you?

Most anyone wanting to make profit wants to have a larger margin than that. Even for one item $200 profit for spending $1200 is iffy. Having to unload a ton of items for a mere 200 is a hard sale.
And I think Composer came in here bitching at you because you wouldn't shut your mouth in his thread. Has he ever scammed you? I doubt it. So stay the fuck out. What goes around comes around I guess. Treat people like you want to be treated and all that.

I agree with you on the profit thing, perhaps I didn't sweeten the deal enough for someone to take it. I'm fine with that, I was just tossing it out there to begin with.
As far as Composer, I was trying to give a friendly warning to those who may not read every dramatic thread we have here. Has he ever scammed me? No, because I choose not to deal with someone who doesn't have a solid past and if there are questionable things that happened, I tend to stay away.
I fail to see how that is, what comes around, goes around. Have I ever scammed someone? No. Have I had lots of satisfied customers? Yes. Did one of the largest merchants in gemstone come into this thread and state how I do not pull scams? Yes.
So, when it comes down to it. I didn't offer "enough" of a steal to satisfy those who chose to read this thread, so they started to make claims that what I offered wasn't worth it. I proved that wrong, rather easily, and they went away.
Final thoughts, what I offered probably was a hard sell, but when it comes down to it, the price versus the value was still in favor of the buyer. Maybe not as much as some had hoped for, but there was still profit to be made by a potential buyer, who invested time to sell things off.
