View Full Version : Stun per crit

Is there any way to predict how many rounds a stun will be for each critical?

I've noticed certain crits tend to give a certain stun amount. It would just help out to make a script that shows how many seconds/rounds a mob will be stunned (sort of like a sorcerer's Mana Disruption script to show them how many extra damage they're doing).

It would just help me out. As a ranged rogue I like to be in the shadows, but when I have a short Roundtime, if a critter will be stunned for 3-4 rounds I can step out and not worry about the sneakiness for a while, but if it's only going to be 1 round, I better stay hidden... etc

Guess I'm just curious if anybody has a table or something...

It is not possible to predict (as from a formula) how many rounds of stun a particular crit will do. The values are assigned arbitrarily but are always the same for any particular crit. It is therefore possible to make a table, and here (an incomplete) one is!

The Ds denote that the crit in question is a death crit. That said, these crits do still have stun values, they're just really hard to obtain (and for the majority of cases not worth the trouble).

Wow, that's great. Was that a table you just made up from memory or one you had lying around?

When I was figuring out the crit tables used in ensnare I noticed that stun durations were always the same per crit, so I searched my logs for the usual melee crits and voila! :)

You sure have been hurt a lot.

Redux testing is just like getting a massage! From a drunk. With a mace. On a pile of especially sharp rocks.

But at least there is a happy ending..... /vomit

Thank you so much for that info. That'll work great! Don't suppose you know where I could get a listing of all the critical messages? I know I've seen it before, but if you know somewhere offhand...

The .qrs script (and therefore Google) is your best bet.

Is that Left Eye Puncture crit 7 a Death w/ 15 round stun? Or is it just a 15 round stun? Any of the others denoted as a number but are deaths?

It's a death. Death supersedes stuns, but as Latrinsorm said, the stun round values do exist for those crits. They're also visible in places where you would normally die but mechanically cannot, ie., the warrior guild boxing ring.

Okay thanks, I understood his comment about being able to obtain stun numbers for deaths, his grid just doesn't denote both... I know that Head Crush rank 4 isn't death, but really there is no way to tell if it's a "death stun number" like that rank 7 puncture, just wanted to make sure that was the only one. (basically any of the numbers that are just below a death number, I can't be sure of).

The only death crit I have a stun number for is that one, though I can't for the life of me recall how I got it.

Any idea if these numbers work for creatures too? So with a given crit (for creatures that don't shake stuns) you can time out when they will be unstunned?

I haven't done any research on it, but it is known that creatures can have different "round" times (c.f. lunatics vs. kobolds), so it stands to reason that it would be some factor of this time that decides how long a given number of stun rounds lasts.
