I'd love to, unfortunately being on the east coast makes it a little more difficult, so probably not.
Most awesome festival I've been to.
I was there what four years ago (?) when the Pixies opened for Radiohead...that was le wow! Watching the goth kids who had assembled for the Cure wig out to Belle and Sebastian was priceless as well....

Is wigging out a good thing? When I'm with my colored brethen such a term usually denotes police involvement.

I would really love to go to this, but there's not really any way I'd be able. The line up is fucking OUT OF SIGHT. Just skimming, I'd love a chance to see: Jack Johnson, the Raconteurs, the Breeders, the National, John Butler Trio, Vampire Weekend, Architecture in Helsinki, Rogue Wave, Portishead, Kraftwerk, Death Cab for Cutie, Sasha & John Digweed, Rilo Kiley, Cold War Kids, Animal Collective. Flogging Molly, Islands, Man Man, Roger Waters, Justice, and Dimitri from Paris. Those are concerts I would love if they were the headlining acts, much less all of them playing in three days.
I would seriously cum my pants if I got to go to this.

Wow, Roger Waters is there. I'd love to see that. His "In the Flesh" tour was the most amazing show I've ever been to.

Looks fucking awful. Nearly as bad as the shit lineup for the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival.

Given the chance, I would fucking cockpunch Jack Jonhson with all my might. I would fucking get a 40m sprint in if I could, or whatever would net me the most absolute force I could muster.
Also, I would go just to say I saw Roger Waters.
EDIT: Alex, why do you hate freedom?

What is this, exactly? A bunch of generic assclowns who decided they can play music, only to find shortly thereafter that they actually have no idea what they're doing, yet already have too much invested to stop playing? Seriously, out of all the bands mentioned in this thread, I've only heard of Portishead, and that's due to the countless Clinton Portis references aswell as the spotlight segment in "The Only Gay Eskimo".

It's a pretty large scale music fest filled with mostly indie rock, underground music, dance/electronica, etc. If I remember correctly, there is even a mini film fest and random weird art there as well. Pretty big thing on the west coast. But, alas, I'm a east coaster!

So in other words, I was pretty much right? Ok, good to know.

If you'd stop listening to popular radio, you might be more familiar with some of these bands.
I know giving up that 'Humps' song will be hard, but I know you can do it!

That's a pretty awesome line-up. I saw Arcitecture in Helsinki and it was a really fun show. Not amazing, but it was really interesting to see all the noise-making instruments they used to create what was really beautiful noise.
It's sort of weird that they lack the star-power they've had in past years. I'd say Jack Johnson is the most commercially successful artist on the line-up and I'd not consider him a genre-binding star.

I've seen Sasha and Digweed do their thing, individually and together. They're talented, but not my cup of tea, really.

I haven't seen them separate or together so I'm pretty psyched.
I wish the Flaming Lips were playing again. They kicked ass at ACL.

I've never heard them, but it would be cool to check them out.
I even looked at the price of flying into Palm Springs, which was less than I thought, but I really don't think I can take the time off from work to go to this even though I would really like to go.
Vulva, are you camping? I'm guessing that's what most people do.

Looks like a pretty good lineup, too bad Rage isn't there again. I'm more of a David Gilmour guy myself, but Roger Waters FTW. I saw him over the summer. They we're floating the giant pig balloon over us. I grabbed one of it's legs and a security guy fucking destroyed me. Good times.

Pfft, Roger Waters WAS Pink Floyd. Gilmour was good, but he's not even in the same ballpark as Waters.

I agree with you, that Waters was Pink Floyd. I wouldn't say they aren't in the same ballpark though. Both can sing, and I'd say Gilmour is a better guitar player. Waters writes(wrote) better songs though.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I'd even say Gilmour is the better singer. I just wish they'd get over their problems and tour together again.

The problem with that is the traits that made Roger a great musician and also good task master for the band, like his attention to detail and unwillingness to compromise musically, made it really tough to be friends with him on a daily basis. My boss brought in a book on the history of the band written by Nick Mason (the drummer, for those who don't know) and it describes the varying levels of tension between the members of the band as different members took on different roles as the line up changed.

Agreed on all the PF stuff. I really thought the passing of Syd would get them back on the road. I know all the members love charity, and with today's prices, they would see a HUUUUUUUUGE profit.
Being a rock star for so long must be tiring though, so I can understand.
Not to mention the fact that getting a ticket would likely cost most normal people a pay check.
