I've got my own tax issues as some of you know and thanks for the advice.

That being said my wife (ex) didn't teach for the pass two years and has been bartending and cleaning some elderly condos a few times a week.

Anyways she has like $1500 (I think I'll have to double check with her) on the books for hourly before they put her under the table.

Obviously she has a shit load of income and tips but how much should I claim? I know she needs at least 3k for our great president's stimulation checks. She prolly brings home tax free between $800-1200 a week.

Any advice would be appreciated. U2U or aim is fine if that suits you.

*****Oh might as well add that we're considering getting remarried and REAL SOON. Should we wait till after taxes or does it really matter. I'm not filing this year (again).

Congrats? If she's got $1500 on the books, is there any reason for her to file? I mean, if you want, she can claim tips up to a certain amount just to get the $600, but even that might not even be worth it (especially since you're not getting that money until May).

I dunno. That's just my 2 cents.

If we're deporting illegal immigrants because they don't pay taxes . . . can we deport legal citizens who don't pay taxes?

I demand ParkTroll drag his soap-box over to this thread!

I'd pay my fucking taxes on my years of sportsbooking if I could get it back to the states. Nearly fucking impossible.

Evidently I'm a tax noob as at least Keller knows but she says she's claiming like 6k or so in tips that were recorded during the $1500 on the books part. Should cover the EIC and the stupid shit check they're sending out I guess I dunno and to be honest I don't really care.

These meds have me fucked up to point where I seriously just don't a shit about anything really. I ran over the neighbors cat right now I'd just shrug and keep going.

Good. Cats suck anyway. I hope you'd have the presence of mind to pause momentarily and back over it one more time just to make sure.

You're basically playing the audit lottery. I can't really advise you beyond saying that. The tax bar doesn't take kindly to advising tax fraud.

She should probably find a CPA to talk to. I know my sister gets some lady from her church to do it for a nominal fee.

What I can tell you, though, is that a lot of audit resources are used to maintain the integrity of the EITC. That said, don't commit tax fraud.

That said, don't commit tax fraud.

i.e., don't get caught

For clarification in posterity, don't commit tax fraud means do not file a return which knowingly states an inaccurate income for the taxable year.

Claim taxes, always. I've been audited for my preparers mistakes for $62 and it sucked.

Also, you're claiming for last year, so marrying her again or not, you claim single for 2007.

Wait... you are going to marry the same woman that you kicked to the curb (or she kicked you to the curb)? Have you lost your ever loving mind?

Very good topic. I don't know if I'd have divorced if I had kids.

The second time around with the same person can work out pretty well, especially if kids are part of the motivation to remarry. I think it's cool.

No advice on taxes though. Fucking IRS.

The divorce was actually great. Except I lost everything I owned and ruined my credit but MAN DID I HAVE SOME SWEEEEEEEET fucking pussy. Juggled five at a time and it was great.

God I hope my significant other doesn't pull a wezas and read this board. Serioiusly one time she stuck her head in my bed room window to wake me up to go get diapers or whatever her vicious ass wanted that morning and and I double D hiding under the covers shaking her ass off because she was scared to death of her.

Ironically they both were named JEN. I regret not staying with her really... she was the first girl I dated that was DD and had a 5 car garage house and for whatever reason really loved me.

I don't love my wife/ex... I actually dislike her... a lot. But I have to like her for another 12 years. I'm fairly certain she doesn't love/like me either.

Was talking about the remarriage thing the last couple days and she seemed cool with it..... and tonight my 7 year old came up to me and said "sorry I can't be the flower girl for you and mommy's wedding" and I was like what? When did she say that? "Oh she told me yesterday she's never going to marry you again".

CUNT. At least i got spring training to look forward to. BTW Frank fucking thomas just gave me a bat... not his trademark black big hurt bat but a nice slugger. Not even sure if it was his or not but I gotta get it signed.

I promised it to brucey but if I get it signed IT'S MINE MOTHER FUCKER.

Sorry to hear all that shit, Sean. I hear ya on losing everything and getting your credit killed though. I went from a 710 to a 500. Thanks Danielle!

Wow, that sucks. Maybe you should take that motorcycle tour and write the great American novel.

If it wasn't for my kids that tour and novel would be done by now.

I'll figure this shit out somehow.

If you are NRF you should go down to H&R Block and have them prepare your return anyway. NRF is $35 bucks and they might find something that gets you some dough. If not, you are only out 35 bucks.

I'm just going to go ahead and blame my shitty credit on my ex.

I'm totally and completely lying, but it somehow makes me feel better.

And that is the same reason I'm still in a hellhole of a relationship.

That being said: Don't screw around with the IRS, they will try to rape you of everything you own if they think you've done something wrong. I currently owe them $2,800, after I have paid $1,300 all because someone stole my SS# and filed false taxes under it, getting a $1,700 refund in May 2005. They still haven't traced it to the bank account it was direct deposited into. So as of now, I don't get my taxes I paid in back, and they are going to keep my stimulus check as well.

I hate the IRS.

Good lord.

Divorce advice and tax advice in the same fucking thread.

Ugh. No thanks.

Only input I'll add is dont fuck with the IRS. As has already been said.

Don't mess with Mother-in-Laws, Mother-Nature, Ukranians or the Mother-Freakin' IRS. It is never worth it.
