Sure, I'm totally down with another corporate sponsored Holiday! I love Guinness, but give me a fucking break, their bottom line can't be that bad.

Guinness does this shit all the time, nothing to do with needing a boost. Leap year this year Guinness sponsored "Five Friday February" and gave out all sorts of shit (Including free Guinness at some locations). One of my coworkers does sidework as a Guinness Girl, so she's always giving me their promotional crap, it's awesome.

They've also do the "Great Guinness Toast" on St. Practice Day, although I'm sure they'll try to make that a national holiday after they get St. Patrick's Day made into one; one can hope.

What is an official holiday versus St. Patty's Day?

Um. Growing up close enough to Irish immigrant families, I'm fairly certain it is an official holiday. Especially when I try driving in the left lane and see oncoming traffic going over the yellow medium. That's pretty official.

I'll put it like this, if Arbor Day is an official holiday, whatever that means, then St. Patty's has to be extra official.

I'm against anything that gives white people an excuse to get excessively drunk and make an attempt at dancing and\ or breaking things. (and suppressing minorities)
