Ok tell me why a wizard can watch the going ons with their familiars but a sorcerer cant watch through an EYEBALL? Hello thats kinda lame dont ya think?

Well, I agree that it SHOULD be different but to balance things out between familiars and demons/eyes I'm glad it's the way it is. The sorcerer has no way to actively watch or speak to a room now. A familiar has an advantage over them in this. Just like a familiar can't break a sanct. or hold mana. Or scout the area.

Because you wouldnt be able to hear what was going on because it's just an eye, so that probably makes it much more difficult to code.

cast 730

You grab your ear and give a firm tug of 10 pounds of pressure or more. Your ear is painfully jerked from your body. You toss it into the air, and it magically floats off into the distance.

a hairy-lobed ear flies into the room, dripping blood.

a hairy-lobed ear begins to listen intently.

Maybe you could just like...stick it to the eye or something. Heh.

Two disembodied ears float into the room and position themselves on opposite sides of a disembodied jade-green eye. The ears wiggle slightly.

You all need to get more sleep

You stare at a big hairy lobed ear.

You gag.

You say loudly," Someone get that ear a Q-tip!"

The GM's of sorcerery said it would be near impossible to add a listening or watching feature to the eye due to coding. They said it sounds easy but its not as simple as its sounds.

Imagine seeing the sorc sitting there with parts of his face falling off...

xxx pulls out his eye.. pulls of his ears...
xxx's mouth melts into itself, leaving a blank spot on his face as his lips fly away.

yeah. Ew.

Why bother with such inconvenience? Simply remove the required bits and pieces from a passing bystander.

What I really think they should do with the eye spy spell is leave it exactly the way it is minus ONE thing.

"soandso concentrates"
"soandso concentrates"
"soandso concentrates"

EVERY time you have the eye do something. It creates an amazing amount of spam that really isn't necessary.

So it'd be an information AND body part gathering spell. Interesting...

And I agree with Neff, too. Soandso concentrates is annoying. Course I could squelch it if I cared more I suppose.

Yeah but then you have to squelch all of the "soandso whispers to you, "that's annoying, knock it off".

Or just implode them.

Either way.

I was under the idea this was being fixed with the new release of the spell. Have you seen the messaging scrolled by someone recently?

Ive never seen that messaging

It used to scroll to both the caster and anyone in the room on each and every action of the eye. I doubt this has not been fixed. The sorcery GM's are usually pretty on top of things these days.
