I plan on trying to work a trip to The Gun Store while in Vegas for the con.

I'll have an econobox rental car so I can take a few folks with me if there are people interested. I really want to fire some of the WWII weapons they've got.

I'm also thinking about getting in on one of the open Texas Hold'em tournaments at one of the casinos downtown. Same thing there, I can probably stuff about three people in the car with me if other people are interested in losing a couple of hundred bucks.

I'll be flying in on Thursday around noon on the Southwest flight from Baltimore if anyone needs a ride from the airport to South Pointe that gets there around the same time.

Looking over their list quickly at nearly 6am est but...

Be sure to rip the Thompson, mp40, sten and the M3A1. Gives you a real feel for what the differences were like for the average smg soldier.

If you're going to rent one get something in .45. .223 and 9mm are fun but the .45 will kick harder and you'll get more bang for your buck (See what I did there?)

When it's warm I take people from work up to MI for some shooting. Here's what I broke out of the safe last time:

Heh, I've fired all sorts of US and foreign modern weapons in my training classes at Quantico, except the Barrett...stupid instructors wouldn't let us do that one...just in case I was put in a situation where I could not access an M4 or G36, but had access to another weapon.

I really want to try all the WWII SMGs, I've never seen a place that would actually let you fire them.

I read up on flamethrow units a while back, what happens to one of those dudes when caught by the enemy is not good.

I fired a WWII Sten and a G3. Both were absoutely a blast. The sten had almost no recoil, and the G3 was just as accurate against Osama as it felt like in COD4 online. I'm definitely frequenting the Gun Store when I go back to Vegas. They had a police sniper rifle that I want to try next time.

The sten is a well built BB gun. I've fired one and you can't almost make a painting with the holes it's that steady.
