P.S. If she was a good GM, she wouldn't have been demoted. Obviously it takes a shitton for them to fire a GM, which is how they made it sound when Khaladon was finally let go. Maybe she's not quite there yet, but she can't be too far away.

Some GMs get paid. It is a much smaller amount than the "develop another engine to license" and "buy Whatley a new luxury car." funds. It isn't much compared to the work those GMs do. They'd make more working fast food.

She sticks her nose into situations where it doesn't belong, and has often ruined some peoples' RP scenarios by doing so, thinking that she'd jump in and stop a "situation" before it happens, when there wasn't going to be a situation to begin with, because all players involved were in on it, consented to CvC, beforehand or whatever was going on, etc.

One cool thing she was involved in though was that huge pvp free for all at the Abandoned Inn a long time ago. Even though it was a one time thing, I'm pretty sure she had something to do with it being permitted that night if I remember right.

You continue to assume. I never said I knew why everyone hated her. I merely said that a lot people don't like her due to this forum. Let's not forget that we're paying to play GemStone. While I understand that part of the job description of GameMasters is to enforce policy, customer service is a cornerstone in any business. There needs to be a balance between the two, and I do not believe that Andraste understands this concept, in part due to the reasons that Mathais mentioned.

Remember the days just after GS3 left AOL, when there were almost 3,000 players on during peak hours? When even the Landing Catacombs were full? When you had to call "CHASING" while hunting?

When TSC was just a big jumble of screen scroll? When there were really only two towns, Wehnimer's and Icemule? When people jumped out of the treehouse?

When people hanged out at the well, the cul-de-sac, and the Front Desk at Thrak's? When people actually used places like the Secluded Corner at the Grocer's or the Cramped Box at the Jail?

Now, we have Solhaven, Ta'Illistim, Ta'Vaalor, Zul Logoth, and several other towns. Now, we have the Adventurer's Guild and a new ESP system. We have new spells, and a new profession. We have the new skills and stats system. We have a new society.

Yet we have about 600-700 players on during peak hours, and as little as 200 players during other hours.

Natural attrition + lack of advertising? Perhaps.

Lack of a customer service focus? Most probably.

Does Andraste contribute to the problem? Definitely.

Let's not forget that we're paying to play GemStone. While I understand that part of the job description of GameMasters is to enforce policy, customer service is a cornerstone in any business. There needs to be a balance between the two, and I do not believe that Andraste understands this concept, in part due to the reasons that Mathais mentioned.

Remember the days just after GS3 left AOL, when there were almost 3,000 players on during peak hours? When even the Landing Catacombs were full? When you had to call "CHASING" while hunting?

When TSC was just a big jumble of screen scroll? When there were really only two towns, Wehnimer's and Icemule? When people jumped out of the treehouse?

When people hanged out at the well, the cul-de-sac, and the Front Desk at Thrak's? When people actually used places like the Secluded Corner at the Grocer's or the Cramped Box at the Jail?

Now, we have Solhaven, Ta'Illistim, Ta'Vaalor, Zul Logoth, and several other towns. Now, we have the Adventurer's Guild and a new ESP system. We have new spells, and a new profession. We have the new skills and stats system. We have a new society.

Yet we have about 600-700 players on during peak hours, and as little as 200 players during other hours.

Natural attrition + lack of advertising? Perhaps.

Lack of a customer service focus? Most probably.

Does Andraste contribute to the problem? Definitely.

Also the time you were referring to pretty much the only games available online were through AOL since it was the only widely available unlimited free internet. Shortly after that you started seeing Diablo 2 online and other rts games online as well as graphical MMORPG's instead of just NWN (not bioware and limited to 400 players based off the gold box games)
