Use your system disk and restore the hard drive it reformats and reinstalls everything, will make it like it just came home from the store.

If you dont have a system restore disk, make sure you have a boot disk with format.exe on it, and the operating system cd. Make sure everything you want is saved somewhere other than the disk you plan on "pwning". Boot up to the floppy disk, you'll get a command prompt. Type in format c: or whatever the drive letter is you want to format. After its done, remove the boot disk and restart with your operating system cd in the cd rom, and follow the directions to reinstall.

Or, if you are lucky, some operating system cds give the option of formatting when you attempt to reinstall. Doesnt make much difference, really.

If you want to seriously ensure that you're information is never recovered by like the fbi or something, thats more work.

Edited to say that XP has format on the CD if that is what you are working with.

Put it in the dumpster (right off your front porch) and stop buying Cheetos so you can save up a bunch of cash for a Mac.

rm -rf

That'd work. Then install linux, with a dual boot WinXP pro for doing things like playing gemstone.
