I was about to take my laptop to a repair place because the power button seemed to be broken. I couldn't get it to turn on. I've tried 2 different power cords, removed the battery and put it back in and still nothing. Did a quick google search and there was a thread that a guy wrote about the same thing. One of the responders said to unplug the power, take out the battery and just hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Then put it all back together and retry.

Worked like a charm.
