Who's using it?

****

What distro?

****

Using Stormfront? with WINE?

****

What about WARLOCK2? -- only linux oriented gui I found:http://sourceforge.net/projects/warlock

****

My next reformat of my puter is after a major hardwar upgrade, new fan for the vid card, new mobo, complete case teardown and rebuild, and I want to run debian4 or one of its derivitives. I might change that if I knew exactly what is running stormfront flawlessly (I use simple scripts for songs, fletching, and one complex, Sarahs Bus Company)

Any information would be grand, needless to say, this is not something that is talked about much of anywhere it seems.

I have been toying with the idea of making a DSL (damn small linux) key with GS/SF loaded so that I can play anywhere. Last time I tried it though I blew off all my scripts that I had saved on the server, much ass pain to get back to where I was.

and as I go to work, your ass pain has caused me great chuckle... and thanks for the warning

I'm running Gentoo Linux and have the Wizard working flawlessly. Wine was excellent support for it, though the same cannot be said about StormFront. Stormfront is not quite usable in my experience, but maybe if you have more cycles to throw at it (my laptop is a 2GHz Pentium 4), it maybe run more smoothly. Even simple window controls like moving and maximizing fail to work consistently for me.

I also run the Lich, which is developed on and works great with Linux. This allowed me to run all of my SF scripts with only very minor modifications (Lich automatically waits for RT, so I had to delete any WAITs to speed things up). Also, Psinet2 will not work under Linux because Jamus uses the .NET framework, but the Lich offers replacements (and many improvements) for most of Psinet's offline features, however there's not nearly the amount of chatter that is on OOC.

Getting your SF settings back into Wizard is a bit of a pain. There is no published utility for it, but the files are in a pretty easy to understand XML format that can be translated to Wizard without too much trouble. I pretty much just did global find and replaces in vim to fix it up. After the second time I did so, I told myself I would write a shell script for it, but never bothered to spend the time.

Shaelun, who develops the Lich, also runs Linux, so he may be able to toss in some recommendations as well. I'm pretty sure he runs a slimmed down Slackware system.

My question is: Does Stormfront or Wizard work on Iphone/any PDA? I barely play as it is, but It'd be nice to be able to log in with my phone to spellup/absorb exp/enchant my shit.

I'm sure a virtual windows on Linux would handle GS very easily. Haven't tried though.
