View Full Version : Blank Deathdagger

I am looking to unload my blank deathdagger. I've been told once attuned it is a 4x weapon with crit weighting and double strikes against the critter it is attuned to. There was one deathmace that was known, that was attuned, but the guy isn't in the game anymore. Hakonne has been trying to hunt it down to test the weighting.

It's the general thoughts of various respectable merchants I have talked with that the selling price should be between the 10-15 million mark. I'll keep it on the lower end of the spectrum and say that if you come with 10 million I'd be willing to part with it.

You can AIM me at BWDoorsInc or PM me with questions. Feel free to post any corrections to it's attributes here. I've talked with a few different people, and Hakonne seems the most confident in knowing it's properties which is what I have stated here.

Thank you all

These will attune to a whole archetype of creatures, like trolls, correct? Not just a subtype, like hill trolls, or war trolls?

As far as I am aware, it is the specific creature, not creature type. i.e. a troll king deathdagger would not have the same properties against a hill troll as it does against the troll king.

Whole archtype. But it triggers to the noun of the creature. So if you swing at an orc, all orcs, but not orc warriors, scouts, etc.

Thank you all for the interest, but the dagger has been sold.

1 hour turntime.

Nice.

If I were a dagger wielding rogue, that would be an excellent weapon to have.

How often can it be attuned/reattuned?

It's only able to be set once.

Definitely should set it to a capped creature. That is an area people are going to be hunting for a long time. If it attuned to ALL Ithzir or ALL Tritons it would be a sweet weapon.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it would set to Ithzir or whichever creature you choose (scout, janissary, initiate, seer, adept). Ithzir deathdagger would be very nice though.

No, it won't set to an Ithzir, triton or grimswarm. There is a troll one, but it doesn't work on MTKs because those are "kings."

Very old weapon though, great for a collection.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. An ithzir dagger would reign supreme.

Only sets once? How unfortunate. Should have a painful death involving ritual to reset it - along with a Lornon priest to facilitate the process.

Too bad, what could have been a pretty powerful weapon turns out to be more of a collector's item.

When they were originally released, I think someone set it to something stupid like orcs with their younger character.

Oops?

How do you attune it to a critter, and what is the highest level critter that you could attune it too?

Swing it at the critter. No limit, IIRC, though the above posters are right, most of them were set to really stupid crap.

If one where to swing it at a dark elf or elf, what ever, would it then be a death dagger to that entire PC race?

I'd wait for three or eight hunting areas to open before attuning it.

They only worked on creatures. I had a blank one for a few years, got it cheap (wanna say 150k?) and then sold it for 5mil sometime in '99 or '00. No clue what it turned into.

I wanted to swing one at a shan wizard, to get a wizard deathweapon. And just carry it around.

Also, there should still be at least 1, or possibly 2, of the Elven trollbanes still floating around. With the advent of the Grimswarm, if they become a permanent addition, will probably up the price on that blade considerably. And it DOES work on troll kings/princes/queens.

The trollbane weapon is nice. I believe I know the two owners of them as well.

I do not know anything about these items, from what it seems they will have HCW against what there attuned too, and normal against everything else?

Try to PP enchant it, you can find out the weighting that way.

I had the trollbane weapon in my shop until this thread started. Someone decided to snatch it up.

That'd be me. But I had my eye on it for a long time prior.

>pcalc enchant
You have 2500 points available.
It will cost 2500 points to enchant a blank deathdagger.
There may be a 1000 point surcharge due to this being a scripted item.
All point costs are estimates until Sadie has a chance to examine the item. Some items may have restrictions that will not allow certain services.

I believe deathdaggers and deathmaces fall under the exempt from services caveat given that their enchant changes depending on what they are swung at after being set. 2x for stuff, 4x for the set creature type.

But, who knows.

Someone more intelligent than I can figure it out, and whether or not things will change PCALC wise AFTER it's set.
